Of course the real problem with that 7-series sedan is that it's pretty much full of electronic gadgets that were state of the art 5 years ago but aren't now. Assuming they still work, which can be a big assumption...

Well its pretty obvious that 300K isn't worth as much as it was back in 1978 or whatever. IIRC Bentleys are built on the same platform as the 7 series BMW, the coachwork that commands the premiums.

In 1975, a Silver Shadow invoiced for $38,750. That's about $157k today, according to the CPI. High Retail for a Silver Shadow these days is $29k-ish. Yeeesh. I'm not sure what I've proved here other than some astounding inflation.
