Uh I first heard it on that megamix dave nada did for fool's gold from march last year, but I'm just now focusing more exclusively to it than electro/disco house, yes.

Maybe it's because I'm a stupid electro kid who loves fast hard music, but I really don't enjoy this new Moombahton stuff at all. And to be honest, it kind of deserves its own thread, because it's definitely not house, electo, or synth music. So take your dubstep for girls somewhere else!

haha oh the page full of tears, yes that moombahton has been around getting increasingly more hype for only a number of years is a good reason as to why you are not being flavor of the month by picking up on it just now and is an even better reason as to why i am the realest dude for enjoying it too while calling you out on saying stupid poo poo like that youve suddenly found yourself somewhere above the lowest common denominator by namedropping dave nada

I'm probably going to quote you at some point in the near future using exactly this phrase.

Also of note for people who are getting into "world" dance musics and maybe be interested: Kwaito is really good as well. It's South African, and there is a lot to read about it online, though finding songs is slightly harder for me. It sounds sometimes like a combo of some elements of digital dancehall and UK Garage, though with an obviously more African sound.

a moombahton thread on its own would be neat, but i think it still qualifies as house. its essentially still just dutch house slowed down with "ay tan sucia" every now and then. I love it, but I still think it's a house subgenre.

Check out Above and Beyond's podcast Trance Around The World. Also Armin's radio show A State of Trance.
Trance, like all EDM comes in different flavours. There is uplifting really super vocal trance, darker deeper tech trance. I can list a bunch of big artists but you're probably better off discovering what you like on your own. But I guess you have the essential mixes. Above and Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Marco V, Sander Van Doorn, just to name a few.
I saw Super 8 and Tab recently and they are amazing, they have some great classics too. Honestly, both TATW and ASOT are HUGE shows by the biggest names in the genre so you'll be good starting off there.

Also its one of the older EDM genres so depending what year you're looking at it's going to sound different. Try Oakenfold+Tiesto from early 2000's for an idea of what it used to be like.

Oh and there is some crossover with progressive house, and a lot of trance djs produce progressive nowadays so keep that in mind.

Speaking of trance... I'm seeing Armin van Buuren for the first time next month, yay!
