yes your catte will be noticeably smaller after using a furminator

amazon routinely has them for like $25 or so

Buying my first FURminator, and plan to spin my 2 cats’ hair into yarn. Someone asked if there was a market for the combed hair. Some spinner in your area might be interested in buying it. More likely, they will offer to spin it for you if you knit, crochet, or weave.

I had a pet rat and it lived to be 2 and a half years old, then developed cancer of the everything and died. never seemed to be in any pain, just lumps everywhere.
