Since people were discussing their HTPC boxes earlier... Amazon (select it as seller) has the Antec Mini ITX Case ISK300-65 (with 65-watt power supply) for $32.99 and free shipping. Newegg specs here. Limited to 2×2.5" (no 3.5") drives, the 5.25" is slim, and I don't see vesa mounting options, but I'm not bothered. Is there any specific reason to run sabnzbd as a windows service? The only thing I can come up with, is if you have multiple windows users, so it will run regardless of whether the right user is logged in. I'm the only one using my PC, so that's not a concern for me. Any other reason?

What happened to the default list of categories (Apps, Books, etc)? I just installed 0.6.1 after reinstalling windows and it looks like you have to manually specify all your categories now... dang

Not sure when this happened in the past week, but I am now getting "Failed to retrieve RSS from http://nzb.su/rss?blahblahblahblah: text/html is not an XML media type" when I attempt to force a read feed. I am using the built-in sabnzbd+ rss filtering options, and the rss url has not changed. Any ideas?

I upgraded to 0.6.1 and now every time I add a new nzb it opens up it's own instance of SAB +1 of whatever the last one was, like localhost9110, 9120 etc. Even when I shut it down and re-start it is still doing it. It's probably something stupid but I'm not sure what

Heh, I configured Couch Potato wrong and it copied every file in my porn directory to \Angela's Ashes (1999) cd1.avi, cd2.avi, etc. 104 files, to be exact. I got it all named back, but it's pretty funny (and totally my fault).

Sometimes certain downloads will show 0kb/s speed and 23123133:313123 download remaining, but the amount of MB downloaded keeps going up. Does anyone know what this means exactly? Will the download finish if I keep it going? (I'm using my ISP's free Usenet and using the new SAB if that helps)

I'm completely new to Usenet really. Well, I did use it way back in the day when ISP's carried the whole feed and everything was a massive pain in the rear end to use, but I've never really used it in it's current form with modern apps that make it easy to use. It's like a whole new wonderful land of fun has opened for me! Anyone using Usenet with Shaw in Canada? So far using the SSL connection seems to prevent any throttling, but I've heard some people claiming that SSL'd Usenet is not being recorded against their bandwidth caps. Anyone know if this is true or not?

If you haven't tried it in awhile, Couch Potato seems much more stable for me. I never had major issues, but it seemed janky compared to Sickbeard. The notification options and renaming stuff seems to be working nicely, though.

We've got stuff to detect passwording, and we've got stuff to detect completeness, and we've got stuff to detect reparability, we just don't have a thing that does ALL of these things and does them as a pre-processing script. ... but it should be doable!

I get that, but people were saying it was some sort of error on Shaw's part that encrypted Usenet traffic wasn't being recorded for some reason. Movies with decent codec don't need more compression. The only reason to put it in a rar is rubbish like this. The rar file has two files in it, one is another rar the other is a txt file with a link where you have to 'register' for the 'password'. Good luck with that scam...

Theyre not a good fit for SB. They work completely different from the way TV shows do so you'd end up with completely different code and UI...at which point you should've just built a different app to begin with. That being said, I would have built CP completely different from the way Ruudberger built it. Having hacked on the code to improve renaming and add XBMC integration I can say its pretty obvious that he was new-ish to Python and maybe even to coding. I'm still glad someone stepped up to the plate and made something usable though.

The nfo just seems wasteful. CP already knows the movie name and everything else, so why not just create the full nfo file for XBMC instead of relying upon XBMC to grab it later? Similar to the way SB writes the full nfo per episode, so updating the library goes quick when it's time to import those shows.

It's just a design choice, you have to update every time an API changes and maybe the author just doesn't want to deal with it. It tells XBMC the proper info to scrape so that's good enough for me. Unless you're adding a lot of titles at once it probably adds five seconds or less to the update process. I have XBMC update the library at startup and on average the whole process takes less than 15 seconds on my SSD. I don't recall it being much higher on my mechanical drive either.
