I think all of her interviews are pretty boring and she's completely wrapped up into this persona she's manufactured that it'd be worse than Flavor Flav.

I actually cut the audio of his Gaga rant during her HBO special because it makes me laugh so much but haven't bothered to put it on youtube yet.

Blacks in the back.
I read the Lady Gaga Rolling Stone interview and I think she would suck. First of all, her family was rich as poo poo, she went to one of the most expensive high schools in the country and had everything she wanted. Yet her interview is like "Boo hoo, my life was so tough, blablabla." It would be like a child of a multimillionaire trying to say he came up hard in the drug game if he was a rapper.

Regardless of the fact that money actually doesn't solve all problems, in the public eye no, they can't talk about tough lives. People demand a sense of humility from those more fortunate and no matter how right or wrong the idea is, it's generally seen as bad form to be wealthy or grown up wealthy and go on a public forum and talk about your troubles in such a way.

Just the way celebrity goes in this country.

For a woman who wears meat and dresses like the Scarlet Pimpernel, Lady Gaga is a dull interview. Here she's talking to David Letterman. Note that she can't carry on a conversation. She keeps stepping on Dave's questions. She gives one word answers. Her jokes are terrible and come after Dave's moved to another subject. Its really loving painful to watch and this is only David Letterman. If she can't handle Dave, how the hell is she going to deal with Howard?

Not to mention she probably got her career because of that money. Money equals opportunity and in showbiz that often equates to skipping a lot of hard work and getting handed a career simply because you know the right people socially. Humility is a very nice thing to have because otherwise it stinks of the 'let them eat cake' upper class mentality.

Essentially, it means she didn't work for her fame, she had a lot of it handed to her ala Paris Hilton.

She'll just go on about some weird sex she had and let Howard carry it until the commercial break. Honestly, how many Gaga fans are big fans of Howard?

I agree. Her videos suck on ice as well. "Born This Way" takes three minutes to get the goddamn song, and it's some of the most uncreative stuff I've ever seen. 'Hey, let's reference Vertigo and Metropolis!'

I dunno. I'm a fan of hers but everyone's right - she's a persona and that's who will be answering questions. Besides, her entire thing is open sexuality. Howard's probably not going to dig up any gold since she already wears all 24k on her sleeve.

ok I don't know what this is. I guess you are a fan of hers.

Anyways, I think the interview could be interesting or boring and I just hope (and think?) that Howard could really dig into her and get some good poo poo out of her. I want to think that he wouldn't buy into her bullshit persona thing.

I want him to make her cry and ask if she's done anal.

Uh his point is that no matter how much Howard doesn't buy into her bullshit persona that's what he's going to get, and he's spot on. Did you watch the Letterman interview? It'd be the same thing- short, suggestive, bullshit answers that carry on the 'Gaga mystique' she's going for, which just comes across to us as annoying and stupid. Howard would be asking her about her life and trying to get her to expand upon some interesting fact about her upbringing from his notes and she'd be answering as lady gaga the character and it would just be harrable. That's my guess anyway, I'd still like to hear her on the show to see if Howard could break through the character eventually, but Snark's point was that she likely won't budge from it.

And the 'open sexuality' thing means that she wouldn't bat an eye when Howard asked her if she did anal. Or she'd stay in-character and do the annoying cutesy "That's very inappropriate for you to ask" and ugh. Same reason he generally doesn't have hacky character comedians on as a rule of thumb- most of the interview is dedicated to breaking through the character which just annoys the poo poo out of Howard.
