The Subs - Don't Stop is a pretty fun song, my favorite off the Decontrol album.

Also check out the Mustard Pimp remix of Don't Stop.

The delicious snack cake.
The Essential Mix of last Friday has Derrick Carter playing, and it's soooooo fun. What else is out there that is like it? I'm looking to expand my small collection of house music, and I prefer listening to albums rather than singles here and there.

Question for everybody here, how are the local acts in your cities? Any rising talent with a local following, maybe a really good resident/promoter/party?

We get all the big names through here, and the older residents at the big clubs who do this for a living are all very much the same. We don't seem to have any younger underground talent or consistency, in both our local parties or our djs.

I'm just curious if other places are like this too. If I want to go to a small club and listen to some tunes its very hit or miss and you rarely see recurring names... unless you want to hit up a big venue on a residents night and hear all the same thing.

Also we've had a bunch of superstars come out of here, but it doesn't seem like there is anybody next in line.

Oh, another related question, what are your city's popular local genres? What do you never hear at all?

I'm from Toronto and there's no represenation of my genre here.

Of course, I'm into synthpop, a scene which seems to be exclusive to northern Europe :(

Goddamn what I wouldn't give to have the Tracasseur DJs play here.

Saw this Raise Your Weapon remix by Madeon posted on my friend's facebook and I can't get enough of it. Would this be considered an electro-house remix?

Do yourself a favor and check it out.

WHAT YOU SAY
I'm going to stay in upstate New York for a bit, bringing with me only my laptop and headphones. Taking a little break from the city. I won't have any gear with me so here are some tunes for you guys to play for me :)

Tech House!!!

Baggi Begovic - The Chant (Saeed Younan Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJOLzYpWEqg

DJ Wady - Terrace http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekPg8YeHQ6k (no full version on youtube)

Jay Lumen - Playground http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-b6ScvU_2A (I saw him live 2 weeks ago and he was off the wall! The place was moving until lights came on and he ended up playing an extended set)

John Acquaviva, Alex D'Elia & Nihil Young - Good Music (Vlada Asanin Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lESHnBC3M2s

Pleasurekraft, Luigi Rocca - Nostromo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_04np02tsM

Luigi Rocca, Boosta - Adulterated http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxzXxixIgFM

Olivier Giacomotto & John Acquaviva - While My Wiki Gently Leaks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai6narazH04 (SECRETS LIES POLITICS SEX)

And this monster track that I've been after for a while. The bassline in this track is unreal, I'm pretty sure Jay Lumen has a wicked bootleg of this, that bastard.
Wehbba - All I Need http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jhk7MxfX8T4

Some Toolroom, big tracks! I'm loving this year's Ibiza compilation.

ATFC - Tropicana http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd_AvF_eLrs

D. Ramirez - Jump It Up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM-GRAvW6d8

John Dahlbäck - Work It Out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV52vIqSMfw

Also Butch's new EP "Aerobic" is really good and there is one remix that's not on youtube that I'm loving to death by Danny Serrano Gonzalez.

Steve Lawler's new Lights Out album is out on ViVa, I have yet to hear it which is weird considering he is my favourite! But its bound to be quality and should be checked out too.

And Munich Disco Tech 11 is out on Great Stuff Recordings, definitely worth looking at!!

Here are a few bonus house tracks with great summer vibes I'm really liking. Totally different from what I usually play, somebody book me on a patio so I can drop these tunes :)

Cerice - Habanero http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_W7u6LuTW74

ATFC - Dazzle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNRb6fdkLU0

ODahl - Just Be Easy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndm-1MQkc2s (I LOVE THIS SONG)
