Vintersorg posted:Weird chair, looks confining. I had one a few years ago and the chair is pretty comfy, but you can't really lounge in it. However, the cover didn't last a year and you can't exchange it unlike most cloth-based covers Ikea sells. Otherwise it's a very sturdy chair, but the cover ruins it.

Crosspost from the GBS thread. My dad and I constructed an 8ft long desk. It's pretty spacious! Yes, I like Formula One. Alot. The cables are quite tidy under it, but it's a little messier to the right of the desk where my Steering Wheel/Pedals hide, as well as my guitar amp.

Have any Galant Owners used this? Summera Computer Holder. I'd be down with it, but it seems a little flimsy? Thanks.

So I went today to buy a Numerar table top (basically the Gallant conference table without the legs or cable cutout) and I was told by the Ikea associate that the entire East Coast is out of Numerar's until at least Oct 15th. I really wanted to get this desk, but 6 weeks seems like I could figure something to work out that was similar. I am looking for a large top to place over a pair of half-hight filing cabinets. Do any goons have ideas or suggestions?

GreatGreen posted:That mat is really cool, actually. Does anybody else (still in business) make products like that? Ikea makes the KNÖS, and the PRÖJS, but they don't ship them. Caveat emptor: The KNÖS has metal in it which blocks wireless keyboards and mice, and the PRÖJS isn't all that slick unless you spray silicone on it.

How would that work the corner desk? I don't really want in the middle were my legs hit it but I don't want it off to the side either. Even it if was off to the side, would the cables even reach?

The Numerar is a countertop repurposed as ~22sqft of desktop bliss. NUMERÄR I guess I'm waiting till October. Cue Tom Petty. KennyG fucked around with this message at 14:52 on Aug 29, 2011 |

I liked the way it looked so I tried to look it up to purchase for myself. Found one place I think selling the XXXL size one I think that is pictured. http://www.coolerguys.com/840556026471.html I am a little hesitant, 30 is fine for the pad, but it's ten bucks for shipping via ups ground that that seems a bit much. Debating if I want to or not still. None of the other resellers seems to have that pad in stock. edit: apparently this is a similar product that came out first, and is 30 or so shipped from Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_i=507846 cbubbles fucked around with this message at 23:44 on Aug 30, 2011 |

I guess this is as good of a place to ask as any... I've been trying to find a desk for my room, I don't have a ton of space to work with and have three pretty basic (or I think they are basic, but no desk seems to have them) requirements: 1) Black 2) Place to put my tower under the desk 3) Not made with lovely fiberboard Bonus: Place to put my printer under the desk. Any suggestions?
