Ugh watching that Skrillex poo poo made me realize its been more than 2 years now since I saw the Trouble & Bass Crew for the first time and got the Scion sampler and was super excited to play "dubstep" for my friends Why did Skrillex get popular instead of AC Slater and The Captain and Drop The Lime

Fake Blood's new EP is being previewed on his souncloud. http://soundcloud.com/fake-blood/deep-red-ep-teaser Sounds exactly like what you would expect from him. I kinda miss his older remixes and his stuff as Touche but I'm glad he is still doing his own thing. I see him September 3rd for the third time, I'm pretty excited

Anybody going to the MDBP in LA this weekend? Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Nadastrom, Sinden, free with RSVP, thousands of hammered Los Angelenos...sounds like a recipe for more Kaskade-style shenanigans.

Never been a big fan myself. There stuff is fairly unremarkable, imo. On another note, I'm not sure how well Holy Ghost! is known 'round these parts but they're pretty great, and I'm going excited to see them in October. They have a fantastic 80s New Orderish sound. Awesome new song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcehYrGX8TU Probably their biggest hit, from a few years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pB30ZXGdenw&feature=related

Any Berlin music fans? Glad to see that Electro is starting to grab hold in main stream America but I am hoping it elevates itself to refined levels. Anything from Moderat (Modeselektor + Aparat) is loving awesome http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=moderat&aq=f Berlin electro (typically minimal electro) is loving awesome and I miss Berlin for it dearly.

Moombahton massive was awesome, quote of the day was: "hey, this moombahton music is like jungle music, it's so primal, it makes me want to gently caress. Hey, have you seen my friend molly?" -some random fat girl. I got with this girl from rpi that i met on line and saw her getting with dave nada after, which was hilarious. JWLS killed it, billy the gent just had a daughter so he didn't come, munchi came into the crowd after his set and started freaking out and dancing but when pickster one did it no one else recognized him so it was just like another short fat hispanic dude showed up. Nadastrom vs. Sabo was absolutely ridiculous. All for 8$! I move in to madison hall on thurs

Show that song to anyone with a marginal interest in dubstep and they will instantly fall in love with it. A little bit old, but this is what house is about to me. Not a retro jam per say, but the old school influence is up front. In New York at least, the continuing hipster retro house fad couldn't be better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rM_O1aftso

Thanks, that's exactly my sort of thing. As I alluded above, over the past 5 or 6 six years in NY I feel the various "classic house" and disco genres having been quite healthy and is one of the more exciting contemporary music movements.
