In fact, I would venture forth that Yukiko Amagi is a portrait of Japanese feminism. I wrote my WMST paper on her. Got an A+.

Yukiko's pretty much your "yamato nadeshiko" which was how an ideal Japanese woman was stereotypically portrayed. (Of course, the game tries to emphasize her issues with meeting those expectations.)

A bit clunky for English. Probably "Ultimate Midnight Arena." Maybe "Ultimate Midnight Channel Arena" or "Ultimate Arena: Midnight Channel."

Also isn't the entire point of Yukiko that the whole "yamato nadeshiko" thing is only skin deep :psyduck:

Strange Journey question, concerning the new game + area.

I'm currently stuck in the Grus B3 floor, the area with all of the one-way doors. I have been kinda stumped here for a while and even used a guide and a map to try to proceed to B4 to meet up with Metatron.

The problem is after taking the northeast stairs down, I'm instructed to go west twice, south once and west again. On the online map I can clearly see there is a hidden door there that I can proceed through, and I have unlock E and gate search E, but when I go there I cannot interact with the door. As instructed the other side is under sanctum B before I attempt this.

How do I get to that west section? When you look at the large map it's approaching the middle and the area above the south-west door in the area. It's very fustrating and I'll max out all my dudes at 99 before I figure this out on my own, I think. Yes I've already beaten Aliat.

Do I need to go back to that floor in the normal map or something?

Edit: Several hours and phase shifts later I not only made my way to my destination, but kicked Demiurge's rear end and let God become whole again. My strategy for him was jamming his turns full of jihads and luster candies so he was stuck on dekuna and dekaja most of the time. . Easiest SMT bonus boss I've fought, but when he did connect it still hurt like a bitch.

Party was Player at 92, Shiva at 99, Scathach at 84 and Demonee-ho at 88. Two had salvation, all three had jihad, and two had luster candy. Player spent most of the time using moan bullets or throwing a bead of life.

Was it worth it? I think so.

I love Kanji's 720 at the very end of that last video, dude throws you off the top of the screen and takes this opportunity to strike a pose while his Persona belts you for him. Don't mind me guys, just gonna take this moment to appreciate what a badass I am :madmax:

All of the characters in the FG in general seem to have their badass factor amped up since the RPG, impossible to tell whether the game is going to be any good but it sure does look good visually!

I don't really like the way Kanji's a huge muscleman in that, in P4 he's pretty drat lanky. Course, that's not the only problem with his design (he looks like he's middle aged but he's younger than the main character) so maybe it was a game limitation.

I think part of it is that the bleached, slicked-back hair gives him this subliminal 'receding hairline' impression, at least to me.

Also I've always been confused as to how tall everyone in P4 is, I've seen two different height charts with completely different measurements for everyone.

I love how they're really making an effort to put in details to give the game a Persona 4 feel. Along with the all out attacks, the block animation is the same as the counter/reflect abilities, and there's a "Once More" state, which I'm guessing is some kind free combo opportunity.

Jeez, how long is Strange Journey supposed to take? I'm over forty hours and I'm still in Sector Delphinus...of course, I'm grinding to get the sources to basically everything I fuse or recruit so that takes forever, but on the other hand if I DIDN'T do that I can't imagine getting to a high enough level to keep fusing cool demons. It's nice because basically every time I face a boss I walk all over their face, but in true SMT fashion the next area usually has me scrambling for a while.

Also, what's available in a Strange Journey NG+? I know it has multiple endings and I'd like to see them but again, I don't know if I can invest this much time more than once....

It is pretty good so far, but the combat system is still terrible. Still, it's awesome to finally be playing The One That Didn't Get Released.

(But in case anyone is wondering, P1 is still my #1 Persona :colbert:)

The stuff they give you in a NG+ in SJ is good enough that you can blow through the whole game in a fraction of the time it took you the first time. I outright soloed nearly the entire game on a NG+, and it wasn't tough at all. The stuff you get is:

* You keep all your money, equipment, items, Forma, and Compendium status
* No level restrictions on demon fusing, start with a max stock of 12
* There's a few new sub-applications you can buy, including one that removes all random encounters
* There are some new ludicrously powerful accessories you can synthesize
* There's an addition of a Boss Rush (great for grinding levels very quickly)
* Towards the end of the game there's a new optional mission with a few uberbosses.

Just make sure you finish the game with a healthy amount of cash and you're pretty much set to blast through the game again quickly.

All of the 8th days are going to be pretty brutal on a first playthrough; if anything, Yuzu's is still the easiest. At least it actually offers a satisfying ending for her route.

The angels and the government are both trying to hunt you down, along with a bunch of stray demons drawn to you by your power as a Bel. You fight them all off, but have to return to the lockdown area to go into hiding. Eventually God announces that he's abandoning the world because humans hosed up so badly in the ordeal. The final battle of the route is against a levelled-up version of Belberith, who's commanding most of the demons in the lockdown. If you completed a sidequest to restore the barrier over Tokyo that the Four Devas were protecting then it's possible to drive out all the demons, otherwise you get to look forward to a future as a government-appointed anti-demon squad, fighting on the front lines in a war with no end in sight. Even the bad ending of the 8th Day is still better than the "you hosed up, have a drat ending and go play NG+" that the original was.
