Hate the Coke Zero ad with the person getting all these extra benefits for saying the word "And" because the can said that word on the side. Ads like this and the AT&T one last year (the guy becoming president because his father took him to a football game) are just annoying to watch.

You're mixing two different commercials in your mind, the kid became president because his dad changed his train ticket; the kid at the football game became a Super Bowl winning quarterback. :eng101:

Agreedo, coke consistently makes some of the worst commercials out there. Remember that movie theater coke commercial from maybe 6 years ago about some band taking a road trip across America to find themselves or some poo poo? *shivers*

I always thought those were neat concepts. Yes, it's a bit "our product is of vital importance to your life and your children's lives," but it's an advertisement.

Me too, as a huge fan of James Burke and the whole Connection series, I appreciate the whole concept of a seemingly insignificant moment having potentially world changing consequences in the future.

Wasn't Heineken the one that based a whole ad campaign about how it was just beer and didn't have any fancy gimmicks? Because this seemed pretty gimmicky when I first saw it.

As for Stella Artois, the brand itself has always been pretty pretentious so the chalice can commercial didn't surprise me at all. The only reason anyone I knew ever drank that stuff was so they could drink beer out of a fancy looking glass (and later try to steal it from the restaurant when they left).

I'm not sure if we're supposed to have such a strong adverse reaction to their daughter. It's aimed at baby boomers (my parents actually own a Venza) so I think she may be intentionally abrasive. Still, that reaction shouldn't overpower the selling point I guess.

I don't think it's really either bad or great, just kinda there. I would gladly watch this over any Miller/Coors commercial, though.

And I have yet to see any NFL season ad as knee-jerk infuriating as "SAAAAAAAAAAAVED BY ZEEEEEERO" yet.

It seems very early '60s pop-film, musical-comedy inspired, especially with the crowd spontaneously breaking into dance near the end.

Believe it or not, someone has managed to outdo ASPCA (the organization with the commercial that has "I Will Remember You" playing in the background while pictures of sad animals scroll by) with regards to making really loving disturbing commercials. That would be St. Jude's, which has sad music in the background while showing children with cancer. What are they trying to accomplish here? The only consolation is that it's a commercial of normal length, as opposed to the minute-long guiltfest that are ASPCA commercials.

Not nearly as bad as Georgia Car Credit (holy poo poo, is that thing racist), but this is a slight step below the normal offensiveness of personal injury lawyer commercials.
