We finally powered through Season 1 of Lost, and are a few episodes in to 2 and I am becoming obsessed with this show. I rally thing that not being able to marathon this show would drive me insane!

Also, Locke's character exposition is heartbreaking, and I love his character.

I just finished watching Louie seasons 1 & 2 and it was pretty good in season 1 but season 2 is just amazing. I'd recommend it highly to people who really enjoy dark comedy, because I don't think it gets much better than Louie.

Just finished The Wire and I am making my way through the whole thread now, but wanted to first say that I thought the last season was probably the worst. 2 and 4 are so close to being the best it is hard to tell.

My favorite character, Prez wasn't in the last season except for one scene, which kind of sucked, but I guess he had his time to shine before that. I'm gonna check out The Corner, Generation Kill, and Treme next. Of those three, Treme sounds the weirdest because I don't really know what to expect after hearing that it is about musicians in post Katrina New Orleans.

Is it at least engrossing?

The Corner is essentialy the proto-Wire. Generation Kill is the premise of the Wire applied to the war. So you'll probably enjoy both of those.

That said, Treme is the best out of those three by far but it's very, very un-Wire-like. If you're open to the concept, you'll probably love it. If you're just looking for another Wire then you'll be dissapointed. Not quality wise, but content wise.

THE TAXES! THE FINGER THING MEANS THE TAXES!

I recently watched Season 1 of Parker Lewis Can't Lose, one of the first shows I remember watching as a little guy. Enjoyable enough show, extremely 1990. General wackiness, good nature, and lack of a laugh track make it a pretty fun nostalgia kick, it's much much better than Saved By The Bell. It must have had some street cred at the time too with cameos by Ziggy Marley, Kool Moe Dee, Ozzy Osbourne, and Weird Al, along with a couple of Hendrix tunes.

We just binged Season 4 and 5 of Dexter to get caught up. I really liked both of them. I was pleasantly suprised with season 5 because everyone it feels like everyone in the Dexter thread hated it (then again half the people in that thread seem to hate Dexter in general). I think watching them back-to-back helped bcause season 4 was pretty intense and 5 a bit lighter in tone (well as light as you can be with a storyline revolving about a rape club).

I was actually really glad they didn't go as far as they could've with it. When you think about shows like Moonlighting, Bones, Castle, or even Veronica Mars, where they have that love story the fans want that they drag out throughout the series - it's nice to see a relationship that the fans want be treated respectfully and realistically. I thought the lead up to the Convention and the Hotel antics were so perfect and real - and their ultimate ending was just so... I don't know... <- West Wing light spoilers.

For me, it was better than any ending for those two characters that I could've imagined. :3:

I finished the first season of Mongrels.

It's not brilliant, but it definitely has its moments. Certainly enough to keep me entertained through an entire season, and willing to watch more. It's rather charming, insofar a show with the line "Most people have to fly a plane into a building to be surrounded by this many virgins" can be.

Thinking about doing the X Files after I finish The Wire. I have Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, so that means that I would only have to get 3-9 and the two movies. I'm still trying to figure out where the first film falls in the series. I know the second one comes years after the 9th season, but where does the first one fall?

Started watching Entourage last week. Now I'm almost done with season 2. It's certainly a guilty pleasure. I'm not sure why I like it, but it is wildly entertaining. Vinnie's cute to look at, but that's about all. I adore the brother, Drama, but I have a hard time believing he's Vinnie's brother. Turtle is great, but I don't believe that he's been friends with these guys since childhood. The agent will forever be Ellen's cousin to me. The characters annoy me, but I still keep watching... with a smile.

I think goons hate it, and Felicia Day? I dunno. I've never played an MMO but I too thought it was a very charming, well-done little series, especially when Wil Wheaton showed up as The Ultimate rear end in a top hat.

The first two season, it really is hard to understand how Drama and Vinnie are brothers. But as the seasons advance it becomes clear that Johnny and Vinnie are half brothers. I guess that the writers of the show thought that it would be better if they weren't blood brothers.

Aw, I love The Guild, even though I don't play MMOs. Some of the characters remind me of some of my friends from university. It's just kind of nice to sit and watch something that you understand.

Last summer I spent about a month watching True Blood, and wasn't entirely thrilled with it, but it was enough to hook me into watching it this past season.

BUT, in the past month... and I've never really done this before, but somehow I managed to burn through an entire two seasons of two different shows that I was told to check out.

So one Friday night I decided to check out The Vampire Diaries. My goodness, am I ever glad I did. I had finished both seasons within 5 days. Now the week's wait between episodes for Season 3 is killing me because it's such a fast paced/action packed show with excellent character development, that you honestly can't get enough of it in 45 minutes.

I highly, highly recommend it.

The other one is Glee, and I took a couple of weeks to watch that one. Not as entertaining as The Vampire Diaries, but it's kind of cute :)

...

Seriously, guys. Check out The Vampire Diaries.

I thought I'd give Nikita a shot since it seems to be mentioned pretty often in TVIV. Got through four episodes so far...does it get better or something?

I mean that fourth episode Chinese triad double agent at homeland security was just terrible. Bad dialog, bad acting, and do they have a list of action movie cliches they need check off for every episode (we're fighting! but, sexual tension!)? Also, straightjacket with exploding bolts wired to heart-rate monitor.

This series is currently still airing here but there are three others all of which follow different characters in different timezones. The first two are good, the third not so much.
