Bigass Moth posted:All you bros who've used shotguns in the game: which do you consider best? Riot Shotgun? I've been a 45-70 and 308 man for too long... Yeah I was hoping for a unique lever-action shotgun, or at least maybe some higher tier 20ga options, but I suppose shotguns were fairly well represented already compared to some of the other gaps the GRA filled. At least they have great perk support. Maybe too great - And Stay Back basically means you win every fight unless there's 4+ mobs on you at once. edit : also, regarding the best shotgun, I didn't think much of Dinner Bell at first but it really grew on me. It's a sniper's shotgun. Hard to beat the raw power of the Riot Shotgun though! Kalko fucked around with this message at 01:14 on Sep 30, 2011 |

I got a GRA ripper just now at level 5. I almost got through the god drat cazadores, but after one of my many deaths they decided to respawn. At that point I toggled god mode and punched them all to death. After that point it was smooth sailing to the Gunrunners booth. I got all my chips the legit way, by stealing everything that wasn't nailed to the floor. I wonder if the Cowboy perk affects rippers? I will need to check the wiki. I don't think something like Rushing Water or Slayer would affect it. Chainsaws and rippers and poo poo own but if I could manually swing them rather than just hold them out they would be a million times better. I think a cool thing would be Heavy Handed + Elijah's Rambling + Slayer + Rushing Water + Cowboy + Grunt + Blood Nap. Or all that and Gahenna with Pyromaniac. Yep. That is pretty much some unstoppable poo poo right there.

I kinda regret taking Meltdown. It looks cool but it makes energy weapons much more situational and it's really more trouble than it's worth.

If whatever you're fighting is getting that close to you, you're doing something wrong. Also, since finding .308 is kinda impossible at low levels, I haven't had a real chance to use This Machine. So what's the second best option I can grab that uses .357 (which you get a poo poo ton of in OWB) or even 5.56 ammo? I figure I shouldn't have much problems getting to 11-12 or whatever level snipers enter the merchant tables but having something beefy for those first levels would be awesome. Looks like the unique cowboy repeater is also in McCarran but you'd have to kill Sterling to get it. Happy Noodle Boy fucked around with this message at 03:48 on Sep 30, 2011 |

Get the Sierra Madre jackpot --> spend all of it on .308 ammo. That's 3000+ rounds, turn it all into JSP, and you'll just nearly have enough to tackle OWB.

I just beat Honest Hearts for the second time and I finally got all of the survivalist caches. I actually choked up a bit when I found the park ranger's corpse, preferring to end his lifetime of pain by freezing to death on his own terms than letting the children he was the Wasteland Santa Claus of watching him waste away and die from cancer. That final note that was on his corpse.

I've decided its for the best to recruit ED-E and then just ask him to wait someplace random so I get to keep his perk. Edit: Yeah primm. You have to go back into the casino and be confronted by deserters. then sometime after that the casino opens. But they have like.. a small rear end limit then they kick you. Something like 6k caps?

For the record, your NCR rep resets when you actually talk to Crocker, not the guy outside the Lucky 38. I know this because I walked in the embassy at 'Sneering Punk' status with every MP in the building calling me an rear end in a top hat and telling me to leave, and then after speaking to him for two minutes they were patting me on the back and I was 'Accepted'. Word travels fast, I guess.
