Whew, good thing we kept all the minecon drama stuff out of this thread, now we can focus on what's way more important: Pony show fandom. Not to derail from that discussion but: has Notch and Co. given any hint as to when we can expect more updates or new gameplay features? I know there has been a lot of talk about updates getting infrequent\stopping (I've been one of those saying that) but is there any indication from Mo-gang that this is what will happen?

Just have modders finish Minecraft. Not even Notch adding mods, he always removes fun parts of them, like making pistons push less blocks/not launch you, and making sticky pistons require slime and not allowing them to pull multiple blocks. Also adjustable extension length.

So I just covered an entire town in the mushroom spore dirt blocks, under the impression that monsters would not spawn on them. However, waiting out the night and wandering around town, there were still monsters spawning on the sporedirt. Did it get changed for 1.0?

I'm pretty much stocked with all other minerals for life too.

So hey I'm having some issues. I'm trying to play minecraft by launching it via java so I can get my steam overlay and mumble overlay to work. It does in fact work too, but I cannot enter fullscreen. This also happens if I play in browser, everything works fine but if I try and fullscreen it I just get a black screen. Its weird, if I launch the minecraft.exe I can go fullscreen but it doesn't give me my steam overlay or mumble overlay. If I launch it via java I get those two things but I lose the ability to go fullscreen. Any help, or ideas?

Anybody have a clue why my multiplayer server save that I moved over to single player worlds refuses to function properly? It's not even terribly large, but after about 20 seconds, my fps drops somewhere between 1 and 5. Normal worlds run fine, multiplayer servers run fine, etc.

I just wish that when Notch got a ton of praise for making a fun sandbox game he'd decided to make it more sandboxy instead of more linear. So much of what he's added since the Nether has been more about giving the player more objectives instead of giving them new stuff to play with.

So, obtaining wool: Do sheep regrow wool yet? None of my penned ones have yet, so do I have to breed and kill them? Because that seems silly, and if that is the case, I imagine it would be easier to farm string from an abandoned mine.

Given that most complaints about Minecraft I've seen in the topic are usually met with a shitstorm of "It's an unfinished product!", I was a bit wary of voicing issues with it or Notch.

It works if you launch the minecraft.jar but not if you launch the minecraft.exe. Unless I'm missing something because I have two windows open, one launched via the .jar one launched via the .exe and the .jar has the mumble overlay whereas the .exe does not.

They really ought to beef up the models in the game, and give them some better animations. That alone would go a long way to making the game more immersive. Or better yet, allow custom character models like they had in Quake 2. How hard could that be to implement?
