Well, they are already adding inside store views to google maps. So, that's likely is the progression we are going to see. http://www.pcworld.com/article/242697/google_maps_provides_street_viewlook_at_store_interiors.html

Holy poo poo the ads are getting intrusive on some apps. I was just looking at my weather channel app and every time I went to another tab It pushed a full screen ad at me that had to be x'ed our of. I don't even think that app has an ad-less pay version. I've been seeing this more and more on lots of stuff. How long before advertising renders once useful freebies completely useless? It's becoming very frustrating.

Yeah I'm pretty mad that the Scrabble people made a paid version with no ads for iOS and just a free ad-supported version of it for Android. My wife likes to play and it's very nice to be able to finally play something cross-OS but those loving ads. I'm pretty sure if I have an Android phone I'm probably too young to eat at Cracker Barrel and I sure as gently caress don't want to see a fullscreen ad for it that disables all my keys instead of the app closing when I try to exit. Also I'm sad that I can't let kids play games on my phone anymore because of the creepy porno-flavored ads.

Fire a quick email to the dev telling them how you feel. Plenty of devs have reverted ad decisions because of feedback. While it may be ignored it only takes a minute to do.

Anyone else using 'make your clock widget?' Its beta, the free version is clock only but the full version has battery, calendar, memory etc. For the discerning android power user who needs 8 clocks on each homescreen its quite a boon. Theres a way to go before it should be out of beta & the terrible user submitted widgets are a good source of entertainment.

Putting this here even though it spans a few topics: 1) Useful task widget to replace my moto razr one? The default seems to have a bug where new tasks are not refreshed when added, and searching the market shows WAY to many 2) Are the phone theme/skins easily replaced? I really like the font / overall looks of other android phone screen shots, and my moto razr just looks 'different' I really would like to move it more in line with the standard. I am rooted, but is this a ROM thing or will beautiful widgets or something help here?

Has anyone had any problems with Amazon Appstore using a shitload of CPU recently? The past few days, I wake up to about three warnings from Watchdog that it's been detected above threshold (over 80%) and now matter what I do, I can't get it to stop. I make sure to kill it whenever I'm done with it so it shouldn't be starting back up unless I purposefully open it again. My last resort before just uninstalling it altogether is reverting back to an older version I have with TB.

If you have the previous version I'd recommend reverting, because the newest version only adds frustration. At least the old version didn't constantly notify you about poo poo you've already done.

I'm not sure if you remember, but there used to be a licensing problem with it in the past. What would happen is the alarm would go off, but if you tried to enter the application to dismiss it, it would give an error saying to redownload from the Amazon store. I'm guessing that's the worst that could happen. I open the Amazon store once a day anyway to see what they're giving away, so I'm not too worried.

I don't believe this is true, during a recent multi-day power outage I had, I had disabled data use (and of course had no wifi) in order to save battery for calls - so the Amazon app store had no way to phone home to Amazon for 2 days. My Amazon paid apps still worked if I loaded them up for a quick game though.
