You CAN get it there for free (Buy -> Enter '0') but I strongly recommend giving the guy all the money you can spare, this EP is AMAZING.
Also includes free wallpaper and ringtones.

This is incredible, thank you for posting this. If anyone could point me in the direction of more artists like this I would be super grateful.

Make sure you check out his Soundcloud. The tunes he made before his EP largely sampled from artists such as Mord Fustang and Porter Robinson, so I'd start there.

If this Overwerk guy's production was a little better, his stuff would be pretty dope. Here are a couple of veteran producers who make songs in the same vein:

Wolfgang Gartner:
Illmerica
Fire Power
Forever (there's a vocal-less version out there, too)

Grand Theft Ecstacy

How? I don't know much about hardstyle other than the hard kickdrum, and I can definitely see that they're similar in that, but in what other ways is it like hardstyle? From what I've heard about hardstyle dance music it seems pretty interesting.

Are we discussing the RA poll yet? http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature.aspx?1252

I think I was already tired of hearing about Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations last year, oh well. I'm just glad Four Tet made it up there, in regards to deep house that is.

Everything else is pretty predictable. Some of the UK Bass guys deserve a bit more credit, and I think we will see a rise in contemporary (not minimal) techno in the new year. I'd like to say "you pay your dues" but MJC is sitting at #9 so I don't know.

And in some cases the dues are long since paid. Having people as big and arena friendly like John Digweed and Sasha, people who have reigned over the Top 10 or 20 places for the past decade+ always seems pretty redundant nowadays. Of course I'm being my usual hypocritical self as you don't hear me complaining about longtime favs like Kerri Chandler or Move D.

Much better than that Mixmag listing though. Pleased to see the Hot Creations stuff right up there, showing off the best of UK House music(and yes I know Lee Foss is American). Really they've been spectacular over the past 2 years putting out great release after great release. And on vinyl too, how it's meant to be. Though I don't know what they mean regarding backlash, as it's not exactly topping the charts or the breakfast show on Radio 1 or anything like that. As long as they keep bringing the goods people will keep on lining up. Rightfully so.

In other news I totally missed this release and now I have it playing on repeat, I can't get enough of that bassline.

I'm not going to lie: I'm not a huge fan of Four Tet's DJing too much just yet. I mean, Four Tet above KDJ or Efedemin or Deetron? I mean I'm well aware that it is a reader-voted poll (voted myself like, the first day of the poll) but oh well. I'm surprised that Villalobos made it as high as he did, I know that the thread on RA while the poll was open was all "let's not have Villalobos #1/#2 again!"

I mean, really, it should be more like an "are you on the list or not" and not so much of a "where you are on the list" in some ways. At least, that's how I look at it to some degree. If I were to take those exact same DJs and rank them according to how I thought of them, certain DJs would definitely be higher and others definitely lower (MCDE at #58? Please).
