I'm not going to lie: I'm not a huge fan of Four Tet's DJing too much just yet. I mean, Four Tet above KDJ or Efedemin or Deetron? I mean I'm well aware that it is a reader-voted poll (voted myself like, the first day of the poll) but oh well. I'm surprised that Villalobos made it as high as he did, I know that the thread on RA while the poll was open was all "let's not have Villalobos #1/#2 again!"

I mean, really, it should be more like an "are you on the list or not" and not so much of a "where you are on the list" in some ways. At least, that's how I look at it to some degree. If I were to take those exact same DJs and rank them according to how I thought of them, certain DJs would definitely be higher and others definitely lower (MCDE at #58? Please).

I just really like Four Tet's sound. Deetron is amazing too. I wish Fake Blood still did a lot of stuff as Touche because that was really good too. I'm just not a fan of the Jamie Jones/Art Department sound and support anyone thinking outside of that rather than jumping on the bandwagon.

I was able to catch live about 70% of the top 10 and a lot of the top 100 this year. I think Maceo Plex should have been higher. All I hear from Villalobos is how hosed up he is all the time and not enough about his music.

Would have been crazy to have him somewhere in the top three. Debuting on that list in the top three would probably blow people's minds.

How? I don't know much about hardstyle other than the hard kickdrum, and I can definitely see that they're similar in that, but in what other ways is it like hardstyle? From what I've heard about hardstyle dance music it seems pretty interesting.

Kickdrum (although it's a bit lighter and not reversed), the screeching synths and hard trance-ish synths before breakdown, the breakdown is very similar except for the actual drop. It's going into that direction though like a middle ground between electro and hard/jumpstyle.

I suppose it's somewhat of natural progression for people are into the harder electro, this or tech-trance like Yoji. A lot of hardstyle fans either don't like modern tracks or don't like anything that's slightly less hard like jumpstyle so i can't imagine they will like this kind of thing though.

They actually made RA top 20 live acts this year, I haven't seen them live personally though. My girlfriend is obsessed with them. This track is obligatory play once per deep house party. I think you're in for a good show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGSWOYb9pNs

Crazy was not in reference to its appropriateness, but was referring to how crazy it would have been to have a newcomer debut that high on the list, that was all.

Would this track be considered big room house? I have a bad ear for some house subgenres, but my brain said 'big room' when I heard that. If that's the case, I rarely dig big room, but regardless this track is really nice imo.

Thanks for the link, I'm going to give the rest of their tracks a listen.
