If I could only have one wish in the next Forza, it would be dirt.

I think it would be pretty cool if they did a full-blown expansion type of DLC (like the ones in GTA4). Like some sort of $20-$30 rally addon with a bunch of dirt tracks and rally cars and whatever necessary game mechanic changes. Or something more fanciful...road racing in the 1930s complete with drivers wearing goggles and scarfs and optional sepia filter. but I've never heard of a racing game doing anything like that so I doubt it will happen.

The Miata's just because rotaries4lyfe. If you haven't blasted around a twisty track in a rotary Mazda before, go do it right now. e: Or Nurburg. Torque through all the tight turns, take 115mph bends on pins and needles.

Yeah, I love the Mazdaspeed lightweight for that 'Ring purpose, for sure. All of the Miatas are great to drive flat out on there.

Maybe a splash of JWB or six will improve my times? Perhaps I shall find out tonight.

Just got a kind of cool new ice cube tray (did I really just write that?) as a gift from the white elephant exchange at work which I am planning on employing instead of the Perrier, however. Cool livery though!

I want Turn-10 to do something completely new. A driving sim where it's just public roads, and highways, completely online, and you just drive around real world roads. Test Drive Unlimited 2, but using a very improved version of the Flight Sim X engine.

I have been saying this since F3. WHY AREN'T THEY DOING IT?

Didn't Dan Greenwalt express interest in doing something like this? I'm kinda convinced they really are working on this. I think the car tokens used in Forza 4, is to test the waters with micro-transactions for a future Forza MMO for the PC.

MMOs are the pop music of gaming. Just... no. I want the online free-roaming idea to take off, but right now when any studio announces an MMO what they're really announcing is that they can release a broken product and sort of throw some updates at it to make ridiculous quantities of money from poopsocks. It's not healthy.

Although, if Forza let a splinter team or another studio have access to the Forza engine to develop a TDU: Forza. That would be pretty neat.

I'm surprised we don't see microtransactions taking off. Everyone looks back at horse armor and salivates over the idea of selling some leftover from development for $5 a pop. Or unlocking stuff that was shipped on the disc for money. And people defended it.

Of course, that can backfire... some men like their bitches crazy.
Finally got a go of the latest DLC last night, after downloading it about 6 times from the stupid marketplace. It just didn't want to register.

I've got a question about DLC, I activated all the codes that came with my game, but for some reason I don't have the fancy Tesla? Just the normal one. Any ideas?

Oh yeah, that escort! That goddamn incredible escort. I turned it upto D-class and lapped everything on the track, then up to C-class and lapped everything on the track, then B-class and game 7th, what gives? Its still a beast, I've having trouble getting it to go sideways as its got massive understeer but by the nine divines once it goes sideways it flys along as if thats how its supposed to be driven!

The Alfa is pretty sweet too, as is the Fiero. Havn't had time to race any more of them but drat is it a good pack.

I still wish they would patch the AI to be harder in career, first place after first place and not a single challenge to any race. Only thing I can think of it to make it artificially harder by turning off more assists. But then when I learn to be good without those assists its gonna be even easier to win, so meh.

Also the "I'm under pressure from the car behind, better spin out" is still lame as hell. It looks more like their gas pedal gets glued to the floor and they just fly off the track. I'd prefer it if they were just more likley to get 2 wheels on the grass, giving you a chance to pass, rather than them just flying off like a spazz.

I find myself really struggling, as I've just not got the time to drive every single one of these beautiful old muscle cars, but I MUST, they're just so pretty...

Sharing the game engine with another dev team could lead to some pretty sweet things, god what I would give for a Forza PC edition. Hell I'd subscribe if it was a subscription thingey.

I'm cool with ripping a few and screwing around, but jesus, I could barely hear the game because every kid in the race was busy doing bong hits and coughing into their mics as conspicuously as possible while one-upping one another on where they score their ~dAnk budZ~. While crashing into walls and each other because talking about hueg nugz and buying a pound at a time was distracting them from their sweet drift lines. Or something. Christ.

I finally quit and did some circuits after one kid started going on about how him and his roommate smuggle twenty pound bags in from Canada and smoke "easily, like, a pound a week, man. Serious." DO THEY EVEN KNOW WHAT A POUND OF WEED LOOKS LIKE?

I don't play any Xbox other games online, so maybe they're all like this, but most of the people I hear over the mic are kind of awful. I had a really awesome one the other night though, there was a huge clusterfuck on the first turn, and for the entire race I got to listen to these two guys with the thickest southern drawls arguing over whether there had been some intentional bumping or if they were just rubbin'. You'd think they'd drop it after the first lap but they went on arguing the entire race.

Oddly enough, I didn't really find much of that when I first bought the game. Maybe (just maybe) it's because I was racing in the F-class circuit lobbies, where everyone already knows they're hung like a horse (*coughgeldingcough*), and so have nothing to prove.

I think you are a bit confused, there is only 1 Tesla. Where did you get the idea there was a "fancy" one too. Also the AI in the career is supposed to scale to you to a point where you still win almost all races but the AI will at least still challenge you a little. Try turning the assists off, maybe that will let the AI you are looking for more of a challenge?

Forza goes through phases in terms of the online content, I think. It alternates between car lunatics and casual gamers. With the new DLC and the holidays coming up, there's a ton of kids and idiots playing, but in a few months it will be back to hardcore benchracers that more or less are tolerable to play with.

You can also tell if someone is cool or not often by what car they race. A leaderboard car or a common car in class with big chrome wheels? rear end in a top hat. Some car you thought only you raced, or a tastefully painted and realistic modded common car? Probably a cool guy.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a pubbie drive an unusual car. I always make sure to give them extra room and whatnot when I'm racing them so that they can get as good a finish as possible as a way of thanking them for not driving a loving Lotus or Dart or whatever.

Oh, balls. I thought that the game came with one by default and that one of the car packs was supposed to add a different version, my mistake I guess!

Yeah... I always end up bitching about the AI in career, I've started doing more event-list stuff now. Which is great, because not only is the AI better but I can actually have more than 1 race without having to switch cars. Nothing bugs me more than DLC coming out, I tune a sweet new car, then hop onto career mode to find out the only races it gives me are 2 classes above/below what I have.

I also wish Skyrim had never come out, its consuming my soul and Forza playtime.

Dirt racing... sure, sounds fun. Where to I sign up.

Racing on highways... yeah, no. This is a race simulation game, not Need for Speed.

We need more real life race tracks before they even think about adding a highway race.

Sure, the Gumball is kinda cool, but the thing is, it doesn't transfer well to an actual video game. (You are supposed to follow the speed limits and such, not that people do.)

I would actually enjoy a formula game by T10. That would be a lot of fun.

The codemasters F1 games do that, in which you are given goals for the team you are in (Lotus/Caterham F1 would ask you to try and get 18th whilst Red Bull/Mclaren are looking for at least 3rd or a win).

I gotta add to this; I am starting a career in F1 2011 after that steam sale a while back and its so much more satisfying to go out there in my Williams and put it all down on the line and legitimately get beat by a better car and still hear my team say "Great job, we did a lot better than we planned.". Then to go out with the highest PI car and to get a perfect race where I dominate from the start.

Here's the page that Jabs created that lists the info. link

I have a question about the setup, thinking about racing this week. It says "Chassis Reinforcement and Roll Cage: Race" but does that mean we have to use the Race setup, or can we use anything BUT the race setup? It's confusing to me because the heading above states the cars can use anything except what's listed below.

That section says you can use any part in any location except the following, so the things called out are a list of exceptions to the "anything you want" rule. So like you're allowed any intake, because they aren't mentioned, but intercoolers have to be stock, and roll cages have to be full-race.
