Thunder Agents Chronicles was going to collect all the lovely versions of the book over the years right? I was actually looking forward to that one.

Ah, that makes sense, couldn't see them cancelling a johns book out of the blue. And yeah, the Chronicles book was the older stuff. Might have just been a reprint of one of the archives is you're that desperate for it.

The first Archive is out of print so it's possible. I was hoping they'd eventually collect everything, even that horrible Rob Liefeld issue.

No word at all so far. I asked one of the Marvel bods on the Masterworks Messageboard about it a year or so ago and he said there were no plans back then but that may have changed. To be honest I'd be very surprised if we didn't get OSCH's / an Omnibus of his run.

That'll be the day.
I don't know if other euro goons have noticed but Amazon seems to randomly upgrade shipping to UPS or DHL.
I got my Bone hardcover in 5 days last month and I'll get my X-Statix omnibus next week, for no added shipping costs. That's pretty nice. It's not necessarily linked to the price/volume of the book though: my Absolute Sandman 5 had regular international shipping.

Quick question to everyone: how are Legion of Super Heroes: The Curse and the first New Teen Titans Omnibus? I don't know the material in these books at all.

They're both great. Get them! And also get the LoSH Great Darkness Saga Deluxe HC, it collects the issues prior to The Curse and is an amazing book.

Both runs are from the eighties and can be a tiny bit dated in places but for the most part they hold up very well indeed.

However, I must warn you that I'm massively biased because these books collect the favourite comics of my youth. So take that as you will.

Opinions on Rip Hunter, Tales of the Unexpected, or Kirby's Challengers of the Unknown (assuming you've read the old stuff). I actually have a Showcase for Challengers but have not gotten around to reading it.

We all know that it's going to contain Infinite Crisis. The question is what else will they put in it.

The only thing that get me even interested in that list is the Showcase Rip Hunter. I've got all of the Kirby Challengers and I don't think that they'll be improved by spending another $100 on them.

ABSOLUTE BATMAN & ROBIN: BATMAN REBORN
Thursday, December 15th, 2011

By Josh Kushins

In November 2012, DC Comics will release ABSOLUTE BATMAN & ROBIN: BATMAN REBORN – collecting the landmark story of an all-new Dynamic Duo, written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Frank Quitely, Philip Tan, David Finch, Cameron Stewart, Andy Clarke and Frazier Irving.

Bruce Wayne has fallen, and former Robin Dick Grayson has taken up the mantle of the Dark Knight. He is joined by a new Robin – Damian Wayne, the assassin-raised son of the original Batman. Together, the unlikely pair fights against a brutal menace that threatens Gotham City, as well as a pair of rival vigilantes out to fill the void left by Bruce’s disappearance.

Presented in the signature style of DC Comics’ Absolute editions, ABSOLUTE BATMAN & ROBIN: BATMAN REBORN collects BATMAN & ROBIN 1-16 and BATMAN THE RETURN 1.

I think I'll pass. It's nice that they're releasing it but I'll stick with the three existing Deluxe HCs. It also seems a little bit incomplete for not having Return of Bruce Wayne in there too.

They generally try to make Absolutes all one writer, right? This is the hope I cling to.

So, 2012 is the year of weaponized Grant Morrison books, right? Absolute FC and B&R and a 1500 page Invisibles collection. Oh, and a Flex Mentallo hardcover in case you need something more maneuverable.
