Check out this Kaskade/Skrillex song off of the new Kaskade album. It is super disco and pretty loving awesome. Hey guys I did a little 30 min mix for a friend's blog that showcases some stuff Im into right now. I'm pretty happy with it and they wrote a little blurb about me which is cool. If you're in NYC or surrounding areas you should check out the blog. It's mostly electro and dubstep and moombahton. They wanna feature all kinds of DJs and styles of EDM though so it's exciting.
My mix is posted on their soundcloud btw.

I don't understand this sentiment. Yah they sampled heavily from that Raw Man track. But while I liked the Raw Man Track and definitely appreciate that he came up with the main beat of that song, the Kaskade/Skrillex version is just way more interesting and exciting to me. Personally, I found the original to be very repetitive and a little boring. To each his own I guess.

Also, what exactly is the problem with using older styles of house in new mixes/songs? Being able to blend different styles into a really cool mix is something I really enjoy about electronic music.

I always preferred the original but hey, the remix is peachy too.

Just be glad you aren't me and you last heard of Kaskade was circa 2003 on OM Records and now you find he's somehow regressed and devolved into stuff like this. Not so much as a gentle stop as someone hitting the emergency pull cord on the train. The pains of ignoring House for half a decade.

Though actually Bassnectar also somehow slid backwards. The curse of OM?

I'm dying to go, I already have my ticket but I think I'm going to have to resell it.

I went 2 years ago when I was 19...me and my 2 friends went under the assumption that our "friend"(see: kid from the dorms we didn't really know but he said we could stay with him and his uncle) we get down there and the uncle has no idea that we are supposed to stay with him. He says we can't stay there but we can leave our bags there and use it as a hub...so for three nights we slept on the beach in Miami. It was the most unbelievable time of my life and the story is much funnier and hosed up but God...Ultra memories.

Oof. Bro lineup to the max. It's a shame Katy B is so low on the billing and I don't know what she hopes to get out of this other than a little money. I wonder who her DJ(s) will be. I can't imagine Geeneus doing something like this. Maybe Skream and Benga will.
