I just used most of them as fast travel waypoints. They're not entirely useless. I do wish there were a few more tense parts where you approach a building with no idea what the hell might be inside/around the edges. Stuff that you expect to read in The Road. That's my favourite part of Fallout.

I'd like to meet Mr. Bishop in the games sometime, maybe Fallout 4. He could be a background character or an antagonist, but he could potentially be a companion too, since we know that he likes to wander the wastes as much as stay at home in New Reno.

Apart from having some trouble finding Westside I'm really enjoying the game. Either way I have to get a group and some great gear together if I'm going to take on Ceasers Fort. Speaking of, after getting cash and completing her quest I am flush with cash. I bought her a new shotgun but I can't get her to equip it, even though she wears the armor I give her. I guess it's not good enough.

You'll need to give her ammo too, companions only have infinite ammo for their default weapons.

One last post about Honest Hearts: Apart from the Survivalist's story, one of my favorite setpieces in the DLC was Graham meeting you at the Narrows. Once you complete gathering the various Pre-War supplies the Sorrows need and deliver them to Daniel, Graham is scripted to move to the Sorrows' camp. If there was a time and place where a good, cinematic cutscene would've fit perfectly, it was then and there: Thunder rolls as you walk down the river leading from the Narrows, raindrops spattering on the rusty red earth of Zion*. In the distance, walking towards you, you see a man in the driving rain. You hear him reciting a passage from the Good Book, his voice echoing across the walls of the valley: "'By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept, when we remembered Zion.'" Psalm 137:1. A poem of bitter loss and defiance, and the promise of righteous vengeance. He knows every word, and every word is tinged with both subtle anger and practiced calm. Graham stops before you, and finishes the passage. He looks you in the eye. "Do you know what it means?" You do. Even before he came to Zion, he was spoken of in hushed tones by the tribals of the valley. Even before he returned to the fold of the New Canaanites, the Legion and its godhead feared the return of the Burned Man. The White Legs have come into Zion to pillage, to ravage, to despoil. Unfortunately for them, the Burned Man walks. He would cleanse the valley with their blood. *Is it me, or was it always raining in the Sorrows camp? I was beginning to think it was a Metal Gear Solid 3 reference every time I went back to camp to turn in quests and stuff.

I guess I need some Sneak tips. My level 5 character has 50 Sneak and light armor. I'm in REPCONN and, while sneaking, ghouls still become alerted to my presence instantly. I'm not even moving around full bore; I've got the stick tilted so I'm barely inching forward and ghouls are still like "Whoa what the hell what's that racket? Soles softly padding on concrete? Time to eat some humans!" I don't have my Pip-Boy light on either.

Holy crap Tunnelers are painful. I'm in the caves of whatever doing Lonesome Road and even with flashbangs, even with a flare gun, even with a modded advanced LAER and modded plasma defender shooting overcharged MF/SE cells while doped to the eyeballs on psycho, slasher, jet, rushing water and turbo they're STILL a pain in the rear end to beat. Mind you I'm max level now and the distended DLC level scaling is in full effect... The highway packed with deathclaws was an easy breath of fresh air in comparison to fighting tunnelers in close.

The Elevator was easy, but Implant GRX makes a lot of things easy. Is it normal, as your level climbs into the high 40s, for everything to slow down all the time? My lower-level characters don't have this problem, but it seems like everything, from loading to opening containers, takes ages on my 48 character.

Dead Money is a lot more tolerable when you go in at level 4; and are playing a 10 Charisma 10 Luck character. That supermutant who was a huge Stimpak sponge the second attempt turned into a one-shotting machine.

Is there some bug where companions that get stripped of their weapons when going into anywhere like the van graffs or a casino that they get like double their weapons back or something? Veronica has way more carry weight being taken up than she did before but there is nothing in her inventory I would assume other than her hidden weapons/armor.

Your companions loot corpses and pick up spare items like food and weapons, so that's probably what's happening. Carry weight can get glitched like that, it doesn't seem to be calculated on the fly, but rather adjusted as you go along. In FO3, I had a mod for giving weight to ammo that bugged out and ended up giving me a ton of phantom weight that I couldn't get rid of. What mods are you running? My guess is that's the culprit.

Interestingly enough, for some things (eg ammo on hardcore) it only applies the weight after you leave the screen. So I had my companions carrying several thousand pounds of explosives.

If you have anything on them, you should empty their inventories first because the list can quickly overflow the number of lines that are displayed. if they do have stuff on them you need to take off, the code is removeitem followed by the item code and the quantity. So like, removeitem XXY 1 or something. The itemcode you need should show up in the console when you use showinventory.

Legion Assassin squads used to be kind of scary but now they typically run at me, I hide behind a rock, then leap out and one or two-hit all of them.

I'm surprised there wasn't more closure on the tunnelers. Unless someone does something about them, they're going to emerge in the Mojave and wreck everyone's day someday. I thought that maybe the point of blowing up all warheads in the valley was to collapse their tunnels or something.
