I hope they add a bunch of 80s' imports. Gimme a first gen RX7, first gen 300zx, first gen Piazza/Impulse. Throw in the ugly as gently caress first gen Supra too, because we have the rest of them already.

TannhauserGate posted:As a general rule of thumb, you want to start a class down- maybe two. One class is usually enough to put parts and tuning on to solve deficiencies in the car's make or adjust it to your style, two is either severe rebalancing or balancing plus extra gofastgood. Any more than that and odds are you're twisting the frame into knots with too much engine or handling harder than the suspension can deal with. This is pretty much the rough outline I use for tuning. Example: a car that is F class at stock will be competitive if tuned up to E class, a bit of a challenge at D class, maybe possibly useful at C class if heavily modified and tuned carefully, but beyond that it's not worth it except for novelty. This is of course not counting engine or drivetrain swaps, which is basically building an entirely different car in and of itself (though even then there's still a limit to what the chassis can handle).

Yeah. A B500 Ford Ka is probably not going to be competitive against a B500 Civic Type-R Mugen.

You have to be careful with RWD swapping short wheelbase cars though. Very, um... tail happy.

VERTiG0 posted:Wow, no poo poo? I guess maybe I should spend some time tuning tiny cars like that. There's a reason the lightest cars have been termed "cheater" cars in previous Forzas. In the lower classes they could absolutely dominate. With FM4, Turn 10 seems to have ironed out those issues as you won't see the Lotus Elan dominating everything, but there's still a few outliers that do better than you might expect.

Other than 4 I've only played the very first Forza on the original Xbox many years ago, so I haven't really experienced anything like that yet.

Boaz, I think I may have sent you the wrong car. Fate has smiled on you, but there are now two Seibon Alt cars. I'll do more updates later today.

I had an AWD swapped Nissan Micra in C class that did OK in GTCC, and completely destroyed against the AI, for whatever that's worth - I was entering it in B500 races at C424 and still cleaning house. Engine and drivetrain swaps fukken own.

I'm tempted to get a CSR Elite eventually, someone already made a wheel mod for it to attach different wheels to it.

I like the public lobbies. I find most people with mics generally want good races. There is at least one team out there who does nothing but wreck people, but the community is on to them. Frankly, I enjoy trying to outfox them. Maybe Turn 10's master plan is finally working and I will keep coming back to get punched in the dick again and again.

Erasing the need for cash grinding to upgrade cars has taken a lot of the stress out of pubbie racing. You don't have to worry about being robbed out of your next project's upgrade fund by some knobs driving the exact same overtuned AWD shitbox, so counter-griefing the would be griefers is like its own little game now. Plus sometimes you get people who do totally surreal things, like the guy I ran into last weekend who was playing Darrell Waltrip soundbites over his microphone every race. BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY LET'S GO RACIN'!!! *field of Mk 2 Golfs slowly trundles off the line*

You haven't lived until you've heard a guy (who is on disability and does nothing but play games...poorly) make a booty call on his cellphone, and clearly tell her that she'll need to ignore the state of his kitchen when she comes over.

Yeah, i've been F5'ing like crazy all day too. I don't understand why Turn-10 has so many issues communication things to their playerbase. I've never once seen them respond to anyone on Twitter, Facebook, or the official forums. It would have been nice if they just said, this morning, "hey sup, we won't be able to deliver on the announcement today, sorry, come back tomorrow!". Instead we gotta hear this second hand, from Turn-10s inside source guy. On the plus side, this months announcement sounds pretty awesome, and might even be more than just cars.

I want Lime Rock and the Loudon Road Course at NHMS. I've raced at both and it'd be cool and Turn 10 are you listening In other news, a 360 is in the mail as well as a copy of Forza, so I should be back racing again in a week or two.
