Toriori posted:Oh sweet mother Mary, I just went to this little Jamaican place in town that I haven't been to before. Tiny place, nowhere to sit so take out only. Me and my fiance ordered a two item meal with jerk chicken, honey garlic ribs which comes with seasoned rice with kidney beans and a beef patty on the side. Holy poo poo, it's a good thing we got to share because the portions are HUGE. Its delicious, I'm glad to see a small business flourishing, he also only sells his stuff fresh and closes down for the day when he runs out. Time for food coma. That sounds pretty amazing, I've never had Jamaican food The only-sell-as-long-as-fresh concept is new to me as well, never heard of that before. Do you mean he cooks a portion, and then they sell that off, or as long as they have fresh goods to cook from? Edit: because I'm all alone on a new page. From what I've been told, he makes his stuff for the day in the morning, then closes when its all gone. He throws out the leftover Jamaican patties at the end of the day, but my dad has gone there during work towards the end of the day and the guy who owns the places just gives them away. It's nice to know you're getting something fresh. Ughh though I ate it and now my body is doing that thing where if I look at a food I had too much of its like "get that away from me forever". It was delicious though.

I just had some bacon from someone who tried their first ever batch. I fear I have ingested too much salt, now. And I still have to eat ham later today.

Looks like Japanese or possibly Korean pizza. It's missing the spaghetti-wrapped shrimp on the crust though.

The NYC italian-influenced neobakeries (pandaisy, Sullivan Street, etc.) make fantastic pizzas with potato or cauliflower (my favorite) or mushroom or zucchini on them. Like pizza bianca with the veggies totally covering it.

Yeah, my favorite (hilariously Italian, bordering on stereotypical) pizza place makes a couple of pretty drat good pizzas with potatoes on them. I'm more of a traditional "tomato sauce, mozzarella and salsiccia" kind of guy myself.

And crazy cheap beer. Or just go trolling around the underground mall on the corner and eat things on sticks, not giving any fucks what they contain.

Dumps? Edit: Oh, I think you mean dumplings. Yum. By the way, I'm gonna quit my job and buy an Indian Food truck. That thing is gorgeous, and only $75K.

So today is day 1 of a 161 day gig. So far I haven't even seen a BBQ place. Charlotte is really letting me down. I also need new luggage, my current big rear end suitcase got all hosed up and may not last many more trips. I need something that will hold a two weeks of clothing, a laptop, boots, and a small pile of tools. I will not be flying that often but I would rather have something that will last a few years.

Certainly. I'd love to have you and VM come over or meet you bums somewhere downtown, so that I don't have to go rushing out at 1 PM. I wake up at 7 am every day anyway, so Wednesday breakfunch would definitely work. I can make chickpea dosas, and coconut chatni, and a bit of a vegetable something or other. If you want to solidify details, just shoot me an email at altveg@me.com and I'll give you two my mobile phone number, so we can move it to text messages.
