I've only read the first two chapters and, while completely bizarre and infantile, I can't deny there's a natural sense of comedy and timing in these. The seemingly random mash-up of characters and tropes, the campy one-liners, and of course the nonsensical grammar and spelling--it all comes together in something much funnier and more engaging than it deserves to be.

I know this is probably a bit too high-brow a review for this kind of material, but I really think it's remarkable.

There is a sort of wise nuance in what Lazerbot does. Compare this to hundreds of self-proclaimed authors that construct elaborate worlds picked wholesale from other media and still haven't written word one.

Lazerbot just picks up material and does it. And I think that's an impressive amount of initiative for someone with a lack of classical talent (as one would assume it was).

Lazerbot makes outsider art, but I think he's been getting better on the technical side of things. It could just be getting photoshop, and having more control and tools, but I think there's a more confident style emerging.

Lazerbot must have studied writing and storytelling. He's just too good at his pacing, jokes, nuances, and remembering when to reintroduce concepts touched upon.

I like to think of Lazerbot as the internet's version of Lady Gaga: A Jewish Illuminati conspiracy that rose from the artistic underground who was sent to tear down bullying and trolls through mass-media.

You're not even halfway down the rabbit hole yet. It gets crazier and there's a real sense of narrative running through the entire story.

Trust me, there's been wordier reviews (most of them came from me).

The Truth About Lazerbot is something we probably won't ever find out, nor will we ever need to, but regardless of what you think he is and what he's trying to do with TGT, you sort of have to respect the sheer effort he's putting into this. Objectively speaking the art isn't great but the level of improvement he's shown tells us that he's working to the best of his ability. Someone else touched on this earlier but Lazerbot puts more effort into a page of TGT than Buckley or Dobson have done in any artwork in years.

Lazerbot has a ton of awesome folk-isms, if I could call them that.

I work at a restaurant on the weekends that has a ton of neurotic servers. I've been tempted to tell them, "cool your vag" on a number of occasions, but it's probably not good for business.

I unironically enjoy the whiplash-like contrast between gruesome detail and off-model characters, re-drawn in every frame. Take this page:

The MSPaint panels lull you into a false sense of security, then *pow* suddenly Shadow punches one of the troll's faces in and breaks the other's nose. Same goes for when Mario & Luigi are murdering the hell out of the trolls with their gigantic hammers.

(i just noticed that Shadow is wearing Tails' shoes :stare:)

Sorry bud, Tails' shoes have red near the ankle. LazerBot, as always, has everything absolutely canon.

(Read this back, realised I probably wasn't being clear enough: yes, the toes are right, no, the ankle is wrong. But Shadow didn't high shovel as canon so I guess he could have changed his shoes too)
