Greetings deaf technogoons, I need some help finding out where I can buy the tracks that have been mashed together in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1_tLdAb3tc

The video claims that they are made by an artist called "Protek" but for the life of me I cant find any definitive references to him/her on the internet. If anyone knows how/where I can buy these tracks that would be great. The melodies are to die for.

I dunno who that is, but it's hardstyle so I don't know if anyone in this thread is going to be able to help you.

Yep I know its hardstyle. Sorry, I'm not very worldly so I count hardstyle as a subgenre of "Techno/house", I'll try and look for a more genre specific thread.

Is there any chance you'd be able to make a quick list of some of the better clubs that play techno in NY? I'm heading there soon.

The Bunker (Brooklyn) is the best IMO, at least in terms of the acts they get.

Yeah, D&B legend Photek definitely put out that hardstyle travesty! :3:

I'd be inclined to say Showtek? Actually, I think the artist you posted was an unreleased artist, but you can follow up on more hardstyle artists.

The Dirtiest Harry, for future reference, this is hardstyle, not techno...

Early hardstyle was actually driving and more techno-like; reminisent of early 90s hard techno except with reversed bass. Before entirely turning into long boring uplifting melodies every track and completely worthless for any interesting mixing.

Thought I'd share with you guys, hopefully it'll be of some interest. This is a mix by DJ RePete, best known as the resident DJ at the infamous Limelight club in NYC in the early to mid 90s. This is him spinning at an event in Brooklyn a couple of months ago. First half is old school rave/hardcore classics, second half is recent stuff. Great set

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
Liking the stuff that's being posted in here so far - the electro/house thread never quite worked for me.

Here's 2 hours of Sven Vath cranking it out at Ultra:

Are there any good Spotify playlists I should be following for this sort of music?

I would recommend Soundcloud for your musical needs.

Here are some cool users:

The almighty R_co that used to post 5+ sets a day, sadly has slowed down, maybe he's partying his rear end off in Europe? Just browse through his uploads... all 333 pages of them: http://soundcloud.com/r_co

This is a local booking agency's channel, they post some sets from their parties. The DJ W!ld one is great, and it brings some great memories as this was my WMC closing party: http://soundcloud.com/linkpresents

Here's the aforementioned DJ W!ld set: http://soundcloud.com/linkpresents/dj-w-ld-cocoon-heroes-miami

e: The New Jack Techno compilation is loving bananas.

A Guy Called Gerald called Deadmau5 a "greedy rat head gently caress." regarding his claims of live electronic music performances. Deadmau5' music is absolutely terrible and we all know this, but he is part of the problem! He is a caricature that is more famous because of his 'cool' stage presence than his actual tunes. gently caress that guy.

Oh really? I should really look into this, then, as that sounds really interesting to me. My own experience of hardstyle came from a mixture of being sixteen/seventeen, going to the local raves and not being exposed to decent electronic music.

Thankfully I rectified this when I went to university.
