If you want to be able to fill ANY role just by respeccing, go for Druid, they can do it. Other than that, the game is actually pretty good at explaining where to go and what to do. Also if you're about doing dungeons, tanks and healers have the shortest ones, and just by being able to use threat increased moves (will be told in tooltips) you'll be better than most tanks.

Can I get some for Warlock: Master of the Arcane?

You have made a good choice, I like Warlock a lot! Despite first appearances, Warlock is not a 4x game like Civilization. You cannot win or even really play without war. Warlock is a war game. Accept this, there can only be one wizard at the top, treat peace treaties and alliances like dirt, because your enemies will certainly do so. Key to combat are the damage types. Look at every unit's status screen and be aware of what your units are resistant or vulnerable to, and make sure that you always get the better of that matchup. If your enemy is undead and fielding lots of ranged-resistant skeletons, archers will not be worth building. Spells are important, but you cannot win the game by focusing only on spellcasting. Most spells have a casting time of one turn, so don't treat spells as a whole avenue of combat, but instead like the ability to cheat once per turn. The key to strong units are their perks. Certain buildings you build in a city will get you access to perks. For instance, building a silverworks armory on a silver deposit will let you pay a sum of gold to permanently upgrade your units with silver weapons. You don't want to have tons of crappy inexperienced units with factory stats, you want to have a core of high level (level 4 or greater) units, and buy all the perks for them you possibly can. Perks are never mutually exclusive, you can have the Fine Armor and Masterwork Armor perks on the same unit, and the effects will stack. Melee units will take more damage than ranged units, since they get counterattacked, so if you don't have enough gold to buy everything for everyone (you won't), then focus on defense perks for your melee units and offense perks for your ranged units. Of special note is the "cover specialist" perk. The description states that it increases the defense bonus for standing on rugged terrain. This is true. What it doesn't say is that it also negates the cover bonuses for enemy units! Melee units with low defenses are not mainline combat units, so use those high-movement high-damage melee units (like rogues) to finish off weakened units, not for standing between your archers and your enemies. You want as many cities as you possibly can get. If there's a sizable patch of unsettled land, even if there aren't any special resources there, even if it's miles from the front lines, build a city there. You can always just fill the city with gold producing structures. Cities should be focused on one thing, like gold, food, mana production. Two cities that try to do two things each are worse than two cities that each focus on one thing. Of course cities should exploit special resources no matter what sort of city you have there. Your capital city should probably just shoot up the melee unit building tree. Warrior's guild -> Smithy -> Barracks -> Training grounds. Early access to tier-2 melee units is fantastic, no matter if it tanks your economy to get them. If you capture a city of a different race than yours you can build all the buildings and units for it, but it will produce 20% less resources, and grow slower. So use cities of your own race for resource production, and cities of other races only for unit production, or for buildings that grant access to unique perks (only humans can build the silverworks armory for instance, other races just build money-producing silver mines). Since a city can only build one building per population point, don't be afraid to just raze all the buildings you don't need in a newly-captured city. Stubborn Knights are arguably the best bang-for-buck unit in the game. If you find some donkeys, build a city near them and get a donkey stables! After beating the first and second Assassin's Creed games I am now playing Brotherhood (on PC). However, the 100% sync on missions is getting on my nerves: I end up retrying these early missions to get 100% rather than moving on with the story and the game. Is there a point to doing it this way? Should I just play the game without worrying about 100% and just retry the ones I failed later? Is there even a point/reward to doing this in the PC version?

You need over 75% to unlock the final Cristina memory. It's not too hard to get that. I tried for 100% on the ones that looked like a fun challenge, and skipped it on the others. Was easily over the 75% mark by the time I got near the end.

If you have all missions in a memory sequence 100% you get cheats to enjoy on replays, nothing else.

It is unfun and you will risk burning out on the game and you WILL be cheated out of full sync once or twice in the main story. I ended up with around 60% sync by the end of the game, and you can always go back and replay them again. That said, w/r/t Full Sync, buy the Crossbow and all of Leonardo's gadgets ASAP (even if you need to grind out the cash to do so). They all make your missions that much easier but the poison dart launcher is borderline gamebreaking, and I can think of several failed Full Sync attempts where I would have been successful with that item.

To add to the full sync pile: Most of the syncs aren't really hard, they just ask you to play with a certain style, use certain weapons or do a certain optional trick built into the mission. Go ahead and try to get those, they'll push you to add some variety to your approaches which helps extend the fun. Some of the others are terrible, especially the "Do not be detected" ones. Feel free to try for those, but you'll waste hours restarting the mission (because they'll probably be set to "failed" if you restart from a checkpoint) trying to get some of them. The worst is a later mission where you're following a guy through several ruins and assassinating people he talks to. To get full sync, you have to kill the targets with assassin recruits. It sounds easy, but the mission takes loving forever, since you have to follow the guy across half of Rome, getting detected will fail the mission, sending you back to the last checkpoint and failing full sync, and sometimes your recruits' kills will fail to register as theirs (I think it's when they use throwing knives), failing the full sync through no fault of your own.

I've actually been holding off on playing Knights of the Old Republic 2 until the 'completion' mod was completed: that time has come. I have to admit though, it's been a long time since I played the original. I'm not really sure how to build a balanced in force powers and combat character. Any pointers?

You can never go wrong with the speed tree. If you're going for a combat build then you want feats and powers that max your attack. Dexterity should be the primary stat to boost armor and the best feat (weapon finesse I believe it's called) lets you use dexterity with lightsabers.

After like level 35 or thereabouts you should be completely fine. So no, you shouldn't have any trouble doing it with a character you've taken through the entire game already.

I did all the DLC after the main game as well - one thing to keep in mind is that the vast majority of the enemies and quests will give you hardly any experience at that level. This also means loot and quest rewards will also be 99% poo poo. If you just want to play through, see the story lines, and have a generally easy time of it, then go ahead. But if you need challenging enemies and decent loot to keep you going, consider doing all or part of NG+ before starting the DLC.

Play through as male - there is an NPC you get as male and one you get as female and the female one is mega-boring and the male one is cool. The completion mod really still doesn't make it 100% complete so there are still some gaps in the story. Gameplay-wise, KOTOR 2 is one of the easiest games I've ever played in my life so don't sweat the character creation - it's impossible to NOT be an unstoppable badass by the end of the game. Spend the effort instead on the conversations. Really listen to Kreia, even when it seems like she's rambling. Make sure you find out Atton's backstory, too.

Mr E posted:Anything I should know about Driver: San Francisco? Many challenges require shifting techniques to complete. I don't mean gear shifting but the game mechanic which it will introduce to you. Get used to thinking about shifting (especially in chase parts) as opposed to just chasing down cars by yourself. There's an income thing and if you want to buy the nicest stuff, then its in your interest to invest your WP points early and often. The exception to the above would be to save up WP points to buy the Ford GT. IIRC, it's the first car available in the game that is fast and you'll want one of those. Non-Spoiler Hint: You'll get a car and you'll think of a movie and you'll think of something that was done often in that movie. Do it. It's a DeLorean. Go 88 MPH to unlock a special level. There's a New Game+ so you can finish the story and still enjoy all the stuff you've unlocked.

Watcher in the Wings is the only one that I'm aware of but even that's debatable. Azrael never appeared in the suggested order (across from the courthouse after Two-Face, on the Ferris wheel after steel mill, etc.) when I played and I just bumped into him at random throughout the game. I played the PC version if that makes a different. If I remember right I finished that mission either before or after the encounter with Mr. Freeze.

I believe it's been discussed a million times now, but you do NOT lock yourself out of certain quests after beating the game. However, if you're like me and want to finish everything before you beat the game, the point of no return in the second time you're told to go to the Steel Mill. This occurs at approximately 75% story completion, after that it's not really practical to do anymore sidequests until you beat the game.

You should watch out for the Janissary's. They have a pistol and they will use it to the fullest extent,Your assassin's will die quickly to them. When you get Bombs try to experiment with them so you know what suits your play style.. You should also know that the game will give a tour around the city so listen and watch carefully. it will explain some very important stuff.

If you hate the den defence minigame (most do), you never have to do it again after the tutorial. There are many options to avoid it: 1) Don't let your notoriety get to 100%. This is a little harder than in previous games since there's no Wanted posters everywhere, and stuff like buying shops raises it significantly, but you can just pay off a crier, run until he's out of your minimap, run back, and you'll be able to pay him again. Or kill witnesses, that's always fun. 2) Ignore the siege warnings and let the dens be taken out, then recapture the dens via an ordinary Borgia Tower-style mission. 3) Level up enough assassins to Master Assassin grade, then you can assign them to a tower and that tower will be siege-proof; if you fill all towers there will be no more den defence, ever. You should do these anyway since Master Assassin missions are some of the most fun in the entire game. But don't bother about min-maxing the Mediterranean minigame otherwise, it's about as much fun as Cow Clicker. Oh, and if you want the achievement for den defence, just replay the piss-easy tutorial three times from the DNA menu.

Can I play Peace Walker before MGS3, or would that ruin either game for me? Also what's the challenge in MGS3 & Peace Walker relative to MGS2, so I know what difficulty level to them play on? For context, I played MGS2 on Easy and breezed through it as long as I had the tranq pistol to use as a crutch. Arsenal Gear I still had quite a bit of trouble with and I died a lot during naked espionage action and to the Metal Gear Ray fight.

If you're going Unarmed, start out by buying Boxing Tape from Chet in Goodsprings. Later, go with a spiked gauntlet, found in Primm, or brass knuckles, which can be found at the highway outpost just south of Primm. Eventually, get a Ballistic Fist or one of it's unique variants. Altogether, this isn't as powerful as Guns or Energy, but at default difficulty you'll do just fine.

As for difficulty I personally found the game to be at hard until you get into the groove of how the stealth mechanics worked. You don't have the radar anymore and the enemy troops are more aware of their surroundings but you now have CQC which is fun and very useful to use lethally and nonlethally. The game might be more fun and exciting with normal or higher but if you just want the (fantastic) story, go with easy Easy by the way gives you the EZ gun which as far as I remember, is an unlimited ammo tranq gun with unlimited silencer strength, so yeah it makes things a real breeze.
