Ok, must have been a small seller in the US. There are a few of them in Australia, including some with 4 wheel steering. Also the Ford version of the 626 (Telstar) came out with the turbo motor in the top of the line spec.

This guy takes the cake. Wants $25 just for him to show up with his rusty shitbox 300cd and then you can "make an offer in accordance to" NADA classic and Hagerty collector values. This car isn't anywhere near the condition those reports are run from. To give you an idea, Hagerty reports in condition 4 (the shittiest) this car is worth $5,600. I've sold better for $250.

My understanding is that a replacement torque converter is ~$1k for the allroad, plus the labor and other miscellaneous parts and fluids involved. When everybody else with a similar car is asking $6-9k, and he wants $10k for the same thing with the added expense and effort of replacing that, it seems pretty unreasonable.

I've always wondered, what the hell happens when people realize they are asking way too much? Or do they never realize and just let the car rot?

We also have black E12 530i, automatic, that has been sitting outside. It would make an excellent parts car. It is shown in some pictures. It would be sold without the wheels currently on it, and without an ignition. This car could be worked into the deal. It was also running before parked.

Ha, I was just looking at local allroads on Craigslist earlier today. How about $15k? Or maybe $16,900? (Of course, that one only has 52k miles, so someone will probably pay it, even with an ad low on details.)

I'm torn on this one. I really want an e36 m3, but I drove it and it's a fun little car. It needs the rear end swapped from a later e30 (drum brakes suck) a new clutch, and a new radio. The body is also not great - it's pretty rustfree (minimal surface rust in spots) but the paint certainly has seen better days. I figure if I could swing ~3500 it'd be a great place to start for an autoslalom/trackday build.
