Caterham R500 superlight, Bluedird 510, 2002, and the TRON ones were given to me by my toy designer neighbor, who is awesome and loves cars as much as we do. (He used to work for Honda motorcycles doing body design)

I want to unpack all my other toys but I need some kind of display case, dusting a shitload of hotwheels sucks rear end.

This car. This one right here. It is so late 70s/early 80s redneck that I almost want to try to love it, but it's not an A body, it's not a G body, it's not an F body.

It's just another gutless shitstain with really awful 'makes its own glue' applications.

well he ordered them for both sides of the car, but when he got them all the flames were going one way!

Why didn't he just flip them upside down? At least then they would be going the right way and I'm sure upside-down flames wouldn't be as noticeable as backward flames.

It amazes me this kit gets to the scrappers, someone paid thousands for that shell new & it can be dropped into a new chassis in about an hour.

I'd love to build a LeMons car out of it, not using some stinky old VW engine though.

I've seen several of these over the years, most were CJ running gear with (old) Beetles on them. I used to wheel with a guy in North Carolina who had one back in the 90s.

Couldn't find this one on snopes, but snopes did recently verify the plywood car as true:
http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/lumber.asp

snopes posted:

The materials were loaded at Home Depot. The Home Depot store manager made the customer sign a waiver before loading. Both back tires are trashed. The back shocks were driven up through the floorboard. On the roof are many 2X4s, 4X4s and OSL sheets of lumber. The load isn't all that meets the eye either. In the back seat were ten 80-pound bags of concrete! They estimated the load weight at 3000 lbs. The car is a VW Jetta with FL plates and the guy said he was headed [from Waldorf MD] for Annapolis!

Not pictured (because the windows were too reflective to get a good shot) the automatic transmission shift lever.

No, you definitely got that one right.

I don't understand why someone would go through the effort to make a fake GTR. Either the person seeing it won't know what a GTR is and won't be impressed, or they will and will make fun of the time and money you've wasted. It's a no-win scenario.
