Life would be simple in the forest except for Cyril Sneer. And his life would be simple except for The Raccoons.
So there I am, dancing my face off to Fred Falke, when suddenly...Skrillex! :wth:

...I mean, a fuckin hate dubstep, but seeing Falke rockin' out on stage to Skrillex was p.cool.

Old Town Road to EGOT

Just got home from seeing Tycho live. Hell of a show. On almost all of the songs, he was accompanied by a bassist and a drummer, but he played 2 solo and those sounded loving rad, too. I want to know exactly what goes into his live show. Looked like he did a decent mix of automating and playing his synths live. His guitar also sounded like an analog synth somehow, which was awesome.

Anyone seen Jamie Jones live? He's playing in Melbourne soon but tickets are slightly more expensive than I thought they'd be.

I've seen him both solo and as Hot Natured (with Lee Foss). Hot Natured was better but I am a Lee Foss fanboy. I caught him solo during Get Lost WMC and he was very good but not the best of the day (kinda hard going against artists like Konrad Black and Todd the God Edwards).

I say go see him but if you feel you're paying too much you probably are. It's just a dj set after all.

Thanks for the info. We don't usually get that many good club gigs in Melbourne (mostly festivals) so I'll probably go.

Lee Foss (and Art Department) are playing in a couple of weeks too actually.

I think it must be my deep and abiding love for cheesy, melodic synthpop, because I actually enjoyed the album quite a bit. Not really on the same level as their other stuff, though. Oh well. His voice is still amazing.

Haha I should have been more specific. I meant more of what tracks has he played at his recent concerts that I should check out. I have only listened to one of his older albums and that one has a super hip hop vibe. I didn't think most of his stuff was dubstep?

I would be interested too, I have only heard the albums Taking Up Your Precious Time and Passing By Behind Your Eyes, which are awesome, but theyre also from 3-6 years ago (doesnt seem that long!)

I was thinking of going to that, but am ending up going to Dillon Francis/Flosstradamus on Thursday, and Kode9/Rustie/Eliot Lipp on Friday.

I think the new Presets album is pretty good, not quite as good as the first two (to be fair, they're both nearly flawless).

The album suffers for not having any instrumentals and seems to have been built around big anthemic crowd-friendly hooks. Also, there's no song about handjobs.

Boys Noise Ich R U as featured on Annie Mac the other day. Track starts 2:20 in.

He says in the preceding interview that his new album is a mix of OiOiOi and Power which I dunno what to think about really as I adored OiOiOi but didn't really get on too much with Power.

The two tracks I've heard thus far have been promising though.
*edit: I found this French blog that has gathered tracks together: http://www.stopthenoise.fr/2012/08/16/boys-noize-out-of-the-black-lp-review/

Yeah, I agree actually. I wasn't too keen on the first single, but after listening to the other songs its a pretty good album.

It's about on part with 4x4=12. Annoying that so many of the tunes have been heard before in demo, livestream etc, but on the otherhand that's part of the appeal behind deadmau5. I don't think Joel is the type to keep secrets, somehow.
