That panel had the funniest dynamic I've seen in a while. Everyone was treating Roger Hedgecock like an alien. Also, liked when Chris Matthews asked Maher if he'd ever lived in the middle east and Maher stared at him incredulously.

goddamn it why are the most interesting people on the show the interview guests and not on the panel? The guy who made that documentary is like another David Simon who should have been on the panel and not relegated to a shorter air time.

I mostly say that because I already know most of the anti-drug war realities and would like him to contribute to general discussion through his worldview. The conservative guy was a waste of space although him and Matthews shouting over the woman was entertaining.

Agreed on guest mis-aligning---we need an entire panel of nothing but documentary making badasses to really set it all in motion. OT was weak as well this time---guess we'll see what the October ep brings based on the current events these next 2 weeks while the show is off.

Yea, it was kind of a Q&A session without much discussion.

Hedgecock's sentiments about "regulations are hindering the economy" and "police shutting down a lemonade stand!" get more ridiculous every time I hear them espoused. I'm sick of this Stosselism (if you watch his show on Fox Business he has a lemonade stand analogy every show practically). What is it with this stilted and textbook illustration? As if lemonade was some kind of elixir that could solve the burgeoning unemployment and economic turmoil of our time.

This concept that small businesses are struggling because of draconian/cumbersome regulations and high taxes is not true. Ask a legitimate small business owner what they think of that. Conversely, ask someone in the "underground economy" the same thing. Some of these people do most of their work "under the table" and guess what..their businesses are still struggling (with NO taxation and NO regulation) because their former clients and customers don't have any money to spend for whatever goods and services they were providing.

Bill was really on his game tonight. I couldn't help feeling like Foley was this dude that really felt one way but was still shilling for the other team just because.

Also the call out to disappointment over Prometheus was awesome. After getting a red title over criticizing the film that was catharsis.

This week would've been fantastic if not for the jackass from The Blaze---though at least his idiocy gave Kerry and McKibben extra chances to be awesome, which they capitalized on. Luntz didn't stink up OT too much either really, but yeah. Seriously though, the show needs to stop having folks from certain blog outlets being given such a platform---or at least some general rule about saying things so wrong and dumb that it gets you barred from the show for at least a season.

Really hope Coulter is on the panel next week as that should at least provide for some amusement so long as the mix has the right proportion to offset her acidic qualities.

It's both Coulter and Issa next week. Ugh, I really want to have a serious conversation with whomever books the guests on Real Time. :negative:

Squint a little and I could not tell him apart from Tucker Carlson; in appearance, mannerisms, political thought and general douchiness. Christ what a deplorable little poo poo.

The gall you have to have to position yourself as the "reasonable" one against the environmentalist who has consistently been proven correct and who's "opinions" are backed up by massive scientific evidence is just nauseating. I love "Well you're saying the climate is changing - I hope it is it changes all the time" little snip, right in the middle of where he's trying to "clarify" the debate was unbelievable. That's not the argument you ignorant gently caress, it's that the rate of change will be far too quick for us to acclimatize to (if even possible) without massive social upheaval and death.

Yes, we can't 'know for certain' what will happen for a 100 years on many, many scientific theories/hypotheses. When I can't fully grasp the complexities of the subject, I defer to those specialized in the field, with decades of research, education and overwhelming agreement to perform the analysis. Recognizing that there are large groups of people who do, in fact, have a much firmer understanding of the subject is not "choosing a side" you swarmy little twat, it's recognizing your own limitations, which everyone on the planet does for a multitude of positions but reject with climate science because...climate scientists get funding from the government, so they're biased.

Also, his "Why is NOW the optimal time?" - it's not. Decades ago would have been the optimal time to confront this, the reason the urgency is ramped up is because the situation is urgent, largely due to odious little men like this guy who actively fight against scientific consensus because it's politically expedient.

I was only half listening so I missed any of that but I assume he would be talking about this:

quote:

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A film dramatizing the death of Osama bin Laden is set to debut next month on the National Geographic Channel, two days before the presidential election.

"Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama bin Laden," from The Weinstein Co. and Voltage Pictures, will air Sunday, Nov. 4, the channel said Thursday. President Barack Obama faces Republican challenger Mitt Romney at the polls two days later.

I watched Fox's coverage after the VP debate. Frank Luntz had a focus group who all said Biden won the debate. Cut back to Hannity saying how Ryan won, and nobody could see it differently.

I really can't understand how they have an audience.
