I'm a couple weeks behind the trend but fuuuuck Love this Giant is good! The packaging is really neat too, instead of a jewel case or a cardboard case it's a soft plastic pockety thing, and there's no real booklet, all the inserts are separate cards.

I can't get over how good Two Car Garage are, or how ignored. Half the bands talked about in here are fairly well known (Titus Andronicus for example) but I don't think anybody minds posting about them as long as they are actually good (see Titus Andronicus). However, gently caress Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes.

I, as someone who obviously doesn't care for the Fleet Foxes, quite enjoyed FJM. Looking through my played list it appears I like 'Nancy From Now On' the most. It's a good enough album and I enjoy the slight subversiveness of the lyrics.

Mumford & Sons opened up a pop-up shop in Sydney for a week where you apparently drink whiskey and listen to their new album. There was no way I was going. Anyone like First Aid Kit? They're a neat little alt-folk band, but I'm not sure they're worth $60 at the Opera House. When did 'indie' get so gentle anyway? I tried to do so with my earlier post about the Blind Pilot concert I went to.I can't really contribute to the whole Fleet Foxes and Father John Misty discussion, although I will say that I dislike Mumford & Sons for some reason I can't really put into words. I mean I like The Great Lake Swimmers which is stylistically pretty similar, if a little slower. I'm gonna second that the new the Mountain Goats album is pretty awesome. I haven't been able to listen to it thoroughly but I always dig the way that Darnielle puts such subtle noises into his songs. It's a beautiful thing. That weird distorted voice in Until I Am Whole gave me chills the first time I heard it. Delta Spirit is playing in Los Angeles in early November so I'll definitely be posting some pictures and let you guys know how they are live! Can't wait to stare into the lead singer's crazy eyes while he sings about California to me. Also, Teen Daze is getting ready to release their new album The Inner Mansions this coming November and it's sounding pretty great. Jewellers - Lakeswimmer Self described as electronic ambient electronica funk soul. This album has all the perfect sound textures and little effects and in all the right combination to hook into my brain. I've enjoyed this countless times so far this year. Looking around on the internet there is hardly anything out there about it. Has anyone heard of the band Summer Fiction? My friend gave me their album last year and I've been really digging it. I know their music has appeared on some network shows, but I've never heard anyone talk about them. Music has got a nice indie rock retro feel. Vaguely haunting vocals. This might be a super out dated fact but despite Console Warriors' self-titled EP being out since April of this year, I just noticed now that it's available for name-your-price download on their website. Also it's very good. And if you don't know of Console Warriors, which is very possible, they're often popular among people who fancy Two Door Cinema Club and Minus the Bear type acts.
