Das Volk posted:Looks like the high plains near Reno Reno doesn't have any roads that wide except for a small section of US 395 between Plumb and the Crash-into-someone-since-we-changed-the-I-80-exits exchange. I'm pretty sure they haven't extended South Meadows/Virginia in the last year since I've been down there.. I'm going to suggest further south.

I'm thinking South Virginia Street / Old 395 where it joins up with Geiger Grade, aka 341 to Virginia City. That is one wide piece of road and it wouldn't surprise me if those guys were going to some Virginia City function.

They're stretching Moana out to several lanes, but that won't be done for several years. The closest place I could think of would be South Virginia, but 341 tapers down to two lanes (still), and 431 tapers down quickly to two.. and no trees. Everything in this shot is flat. I'd almost be willing to consider Prototype/South Meadows, but this span is far too long. It still looks quite like Reno to me, too, though. E: Black Blob may be old AT&T building by IGT heading out towards Prototype? I'll have to go for a drive and have a look. Viggen fucked around with this message at 00:44 on Oct 23, 2012 |

Looks like California to me. There are definitely 4 lane roads other than Sacramento. I'd guess San Bernardino area. Unrelated:

The article mentions that Welderup Hot Rod & Fab Shop is in Las Vegas. (Though the shop was in Billings, MT until 2009) Because one can infer from the article that Darnell's cars roll, the statement in the article that the shop is in SW Las Vegas is of questionable reliability. Because cars drive. 3. joat mon fucked around with this message at 18:59 on Oct 24, 2012 |

I just saw an awesome little car that Ive never seen before and couldnt take a picture of in time. It was yellow with a black stripe down the beltline. It looked an awful lot like a 2002, but definitely wasnt. Rear tail lights looked like the mid 70s volvo 140 tail lights but flatter, so short rectangles. My initial thoughts were early 70s and possibly Fiat, 2 door, short overhangs but not a hatchback. The stripe looked like it wasnt the same width the entire length of it. Only saw it for a split second so thats all I have to work with.

front wing flexing posted:'78 Camaro Z28* drift car Actually that is a 1970 "split bumper" RS/Z28. I have a 72/73 (72 and a half) RS/Z28 with the split bumper. From 1970-73 you could order a Z28 Camaro with the RS appearance package to get the split front bumper. You can get a plain jane V6 model with the split bumper by adding the RS package. Sorry for spergin' I just know a shitload about these. Mine belonged to my uncle and back in the early 80s the battery caught fire, then it sat until like 1990 in a garage. My dad and I lovingly restored it and it was my first car in high school back in 96-97. Edit: according to my dad, mine is a RS/SS/Z28 and 1972 was the only year you could order it that way. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. in_absentia fucked around with this message at 16:02 on Oct 25, 2012 |

Didn't get a picture because my phone was dead, but I saw a Gemballa Mirage GT yesterday. Exciting stock image: For how gently caress-you-I'm-a-Porsche it looks, it sounded really mellow and looked passably comfortable on the street. You can only tell so much from following it around for a little bit though.
