Strippers are people too!

Here are two new mixes out of me, the first is a taxi ride which is something we did as a multi dj project:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rVkACHBhW0

The rest of the cab ride vids are super cool too, check em out

and the second being my latest radio show mix, set to a Denver timelapse

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ3r05cmjnM

That DC10 closing party looks absolutely insane, though one thing that I wonder is if Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss are all going to do individual sets or do the group thing as Visionquest?

Eric Sneo & Chris The Voice - Shut Up & Dance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO06kcRHgBI

This is an absolute slammer, big room techno. Vocals are brilliant as well

Oliver $ & Sqim - Hoes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=De6ACBBy_GU

Heard this in Heidi's set from Paradise, really bouncy tune

German Brigante - Samoa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9TLG_GhPQw

US Tech House heads should definitely check out the UR1 festival going down in Miami During Art Basel (First week of December). Cocoon & Circoloco will have tents. It is pretty drat cheap ($150 for two days, $99 before 2PM)

It's gonna be great.

I guess it's about time for our William Tell routine.
I have returned from my 2 week Spain trip, which as I mentioned in a previous post, included 3 days in Ibiza. I ended up going to a party on each day - the Space closing party on the 7th, the Circoloco/DC-10 closing party on the 8th, and the Sankeys closing party on the 9th. For lineups of each, check those links - there were so many DJs in total and I don't want to clog this post with enormous lists.

I got to the Space party around 8pm, and immediately caught Nic Fanciulli b2b Joris Voorn on the incredible 'Ultra Ibiza' stage that was set up outdoors. After their set was over, I stayed at that stage for Dubfire b2b Carlo Lio. Throughout the rest of the night, I saw great sets from Nina Kraviz, Magda, Carl Cox, Edu Imbernon, Joris Voorn solo, then Joris Voorn b2b Nic Fanciulli again, Radio Slave, and Guy Gerber.

Space as a club was great. There was music in 6 different areas, so that kept people well dispersed. Throughout the club, there were ample places to sit - if I'm going to be somewhere for 12 hours, it's nice to be able to sit here and there. My only complaints were the drink prices (15 euro for a vodka Red Bull) and the amount of broken glass on the floor everywhere from bottles and glasses.

The next night, I got to the Circoloco party at DC-10 around 7:30pm. As soon as I arrived, I could tell how crowded this place was, and it was still very early. Jaime Jones was just coming on outside as I entered, so I watched a bit of his set. Wanting to see how crowded the rest of the areas were, I went inside to watch Tale of Us. Both inside areas were equally as crowded, if not worse than outside. I then saw Dixon, Marcel Dettmann + Ben Klock (bad), Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Davide Squillace + Matthias Tanzmann, Kerri Chandler, Derrick May, Cassy, Maceo Plex, and Damian Lazarus.

DC-10 was just way too crowded. I had read stories online from 2011 about how crowded the closing party was, so I was a little afraid 2012 would be the same way. It sure was. DC-10, unlike Space, had hardly anywhere to relax. There was a tiny area in the back on the ground that people were sitting in, but it too was extremely crowded. The drinks were as expensive as at Space, and I think I remember paying 11 euros for a bottle of water.

Towards the end of the night at DC-10, a girl gave me a wristband for the Sankeys closing party, so I decided to end with that (plus, it was one of the only things going on that final night). I got there around 1am, and saw sets from Darius Syrossian, Enzo Siragusa, Nina Kraviz (again), Steve Lawler, Tiefschwarz, and finally, at 6:45am, "surprise guest #3", Danny Tenaglia.

Sankeys was orders of magnitude smaller than Space and DC-10, and is by no means a superclub like the others. Unfortunately, this didn't mean the drinks were any cheaper. The place was really well cooled though, there were areas of Space and DC-10 that were simply too hot.

Overall, the music was amazing, and the clubs were really cool. The worst part was definitely the people in the clubs. From mobs of English "chavs", to groups of girls that all looked like eastern-European porn stars, to greased up muscle dudes in string tank tops, everyone was there. I heard very little English, and it felt and looked like the Jersey Shore at times.

I could go on and on about things that happened there, but for now, here are two videos, and then a link to a playlist of some more of the videos I took while I was there.

Just a little. I landed around 3:45pm, so I didn't do much on the first day. I walked up and down the Playa d'en Bossa promenade, and grabbed a few beers at a random bar along there. After that, I briefly walked around the main strip area in Playa d'en Bossa.

All I did on the second day was lay on the beach. On the third day, I rented a scooter and rode up to Ibiza Town and checked out the Dalt Vila area. Then I headed back past Playa d'en Bossa to Ses Salines and Sa Canal. Finally, I took the highway up to Sant Antoni to watch the sunset at Cafe del Mar.

There were a few other things I would have liked to have done but didn't get to. Next time.

Right on, if you haven't already, definitely check out Drumcode Radio https://www.drumcode.se and the CLR podcasts https://www.clr.net. Those are the two biggest labels for this style, Drumcode tending towards a cleaner pumpy sound and even having a little bit of a tech-house lean these days, vs CLR being a bit more rough and tumble with experimental tendencies. They both have a a couple years of podcasts done at this point, and tracklists are easy to find (CLR usually posts them on their site, the DCR mixcloud usually has them also). You'll find oodles of stuff along these lines in those mixes.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
Only recently discovered Edu Imbernon but he's quickly becoming one of my favourites. Really nice techno/deep house, a bit slower and groovier than the banging stuff I normally like.

A couple of recent sets I've been digging:

Hollen, Gonzalez, Gonzalo (Spain) - Format It (Original Mix) - http://youtu.be/Uto-I6iswGI

Jewel Kid - Full House (Original Mix) - http://youtu.be/GYo-DtXMFz4

Tomy DeClerque - It's Up To You (Original Mix) - http://youtu.be/YiTjqGK1RiA

Mark Reeve - Drumatic - http://youtu.be/mIsT1x27tI8

Darius Syrossian & Hector Couto - Metal - http://youtu.be/zT-fsV_bXH4

Brian Sanhaji, Drumcell - Split (Dub Version) - http://youtu.be/IQcIWRtCPCM

Post your thoughts in regards to any of those tracks and I can help find a certain/specific sound anyones looking for. I find that as the climates start to change, so do my preferences when it comes to my music... since winter is approaching I think I'll be finding myself playing out more deep house/house opposed to the groovier things I normally listen to.

Heres another song I think deserves to be mentioned:

Depends what sound you're particularly fond of.. I'd choose London over the other cities but thats because I'm more into the house scene in the UK. Julio Bashmore, Eats Everything, A1 Bassline - then you also have the copious amounts of warehouse parties and clubs.

London has pretty much the best lineups in the world. Second maybe only to Berlin. That's just me though.

EDIT: I'm sure you will, but make sure to actually visit the uk before moving. I had fun there but I personally would not want to live there, even if the lineups make me want to weep sometimes.
