So he wasn't just a totally romantic asshat who tried to fight his way out of the friendzone. edit: Wasn't he drunk the first time he banged lysa... and maybe he accepted her comfort the second time(s), since he had just lost cat, etc etc... consolation prize. Maybe that is how he can believe he banged cat and then her sister.
