Speaking of drawing emotion, this is really good. Short little video of a guy who owns a 300SL and hasn't made a trailer queen out of it. He's awesome, the car is beautiful, and it's a really nice video.

Good god, the engine noise.

First time I've ever heard of a factory car with over 1000 hp that has levels of all round performance not seen on any other road car ever made as bland.

The idea of a car like the Veyron having a "factory warranty" is a bit perverse, to be honest. If I were spending that much for one, I'd expect the company to fly a mechanic to wherever it broke down and repair it on site, whilst arranging my 5 star hotel for the night and alternative travel arrangements for the inconvenience.
If I had a Veyron, I would expect it to be fixed before I even knew it needed fixing. Bugatti could arrange the repair with my staff while I was on my yacht.
The idea of spending millions on a car and then having to do something so common as driving it to a dealership to have them sort out a funny rattle on their dime doesn't fit my idea of what ownership of a seven-figure car should entail.

While on principal, I agree with you, somehow I don't see how that works when Bugatti is supposedly losing money on every Veyron built.

You know that this is exactly the service agreement for the Veyron, practically word-for-word right?

I think it's bland compared to the Aventador, Pagani, Shelby A/C Cobra etc. If I saw it on the street I'd stop and glance at it, but I wouldn't drool over it like I would a Lambo.

Of course that's my opinion of it. Perhaps it would change if I got to drive one.

Hey have I mentioned yet that my license plate is "TOA5TER"? See, it's kyoot because it's a boxy car! ^_^
I actually wish the cell phone pictures thread was still around, because I see a bunch of really cool stuff pretty frequently, but I wouldn't say it all fits as "awesome AI car poo poo." It's cool, but nothing amazing. I mean, to give you some idea of the status symbol importance here, the "cheaper" mall near me has cars on the floor - Panamera (S? GTS? I don't know), Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, Fisker Karma, ZR-1, and some others... plus, they just opened a Tesla Store here, so I've started seeing Model S around town. Gorgeous car.

Here's a Lotus Esprit (turbo?) being delivered. The woman was making some noise and it sounded good.

Here are some awful pictures of another Veyron I see occasionally:

(it belongs to Flo Rida - not my photo)

Maybach 62S, $450,000 of massive massive car.

Here's a better photo that shows size:

I live near a rapper who has one a lot like this, but this one isn't his. He also has a black Veyron which I've seen but didn't take a photo of.

I always see cool cars at the supermarket, there's a guy across the street with a GT-R, I've complimented a guy on his 458 several times, and seen an SLS AMG parked before.

The bad news is I'm becoming slightly desensitized to some really cool cars. I just need to make some really cool friends...

Actually, while I'm at it, I may as well add the newest cruiser from the PD in the town I grew up in:

If I were to get pulled over... it wouldn't be quite as bad if it was by that.

And since I'm clearing out, here's a picture of my car in the KY/TN hills from when I moved across the country for the second time in a month. The roads were definitely awesome.

Sorry for the huge dump! I just wanted to get some of it out of my system and it diarrhea'd out.

Squad car generally refers to a patrol car, or a beat car. AKA a car you can stick someone in the back of. The Mustangs/Camaros/Challengers/Corvettes that various PDs have goofed with over the years are generally pursuit or response units... no back seat, not really a day to day 'squad' car.

Generally, it's spergin anyway.

The Veyron isn't holding value terribly well in the second hand market because of the outrageous servicing costs. $30k for new tyres, $50k for new wheels (have to be replaced every 10k miles), $20k for an annual service...

Also, as far as Mr Florida up there, gently caress that guy. Anyone who drives a chrome vehicle can eat a dick. This goes for all those cocksuckers who drive 18 wheelers with a giant chrome rear door. No, I didn't need to be able to see today, thanks rear end in a top hat.

My understanding is that this is (or at least was, at one point) the standard service package when you buy any common trash new Rolls-Royce, so VAG would have to be retarded to not provide the same or better service for their halo car.

I could see that being the case if you took it up to its full speed, but do you actually have to do that if you just putter around at 30 miles an hour between your recording studio and the Oscars, like most Veyrons?

I imagine the danger is being told "sorry sir, your warranty is no longer valid and we can't say your car is safe anymore because you didn't replace the wheels at 10000 miles like we told you to" if you don't do it. It seems that most of these cars get sold rather than have people worry about that.
