Also a Diablo tie-in novel. I remember reading that exact book as a kid and thinking it was in turns awesome and incredibly stupid. In the end, incredibly stupid was the majority opinion I retained. Oh, and the shameless lining of Parson's pockets that one month was just too much for me.

I figured out that Jon is going to turn into an Ice Zombie after being dumped on the other side of the wall. In the final chapter of the final book he'll meet Cat and they will have a battlesong duet: "A Song of Ice and Fire". Fin. This is my canon ending, since GURM won't bother. It comforts me at night.

Rickon Walnutsbane sits the Iron Throne with Shaggydog as commander of the Kingsguard. Stannis is commander of the Night's Watch, Davos on the small council as Admiral. Dany is still trying to be ruler of Westeros but is stuck in customs along with her dragons because quarantine. The Red Keep has been partially destroyed by the fight between ser Robert Strong and Gravedigger while ser Pounce is now Master of Whispers. Bran is still boring but stuck in what is now called Hodoria. Arya is a pirate queen and sekrat assassin for Rickon. Sansa is Lady Paramount. The song of Ice and Fire ends tepidly.

I'm just hoping the evil force far in the North is some kind of alien that landed on the planet and feeds on the living to turn the whole world slowly into a dead ice planet, then shoots off and find another suitable host planet. Kind of like Stephen King's IT, but scary ice zombies instead of a scary clown.

GRRM no longer has any interest in writing the books. The HBO adaptation will make the plot more streamline and produce an ending, with his blessing. This was his plan all along, but neither he, nor HBO can say this, due to his obligations to Bantam. I'm fine with that. The show has made some terrible casting decisions, but I love Stannis. Sexually.

Melisandre reads all of her visions wrong, so what actually needs to happen is Gendry gently caress Daenerys. His "blood" is his bloodline and Daenerys is the dragon. Or maybe all of these prophecies are incomprehensible, vague gibberish so GRRM can pull something out of his rear end as he makes it up while he goes along.
