Nope, sorry, it sounds nothing like that song. I went through an "oh wow look at me listening to obscure goth music" phase in highschool and I'm sure this song is from that, but... too obscure to be found, apparently. But I was so sure it was just plain called "Bell, Book, and Candle." As in the title!

i neither need this song identified, nor I do I claim to know much about punk, but I am legitimately curious as to whether these guys are related to choking victim/leftover crack at all, or whether theyre some knock off band

it's not related to leftover crack/choking victim other than they're playing the same kind of punk rock and loving w/ the CV art

there are more than a handful of bands that play 'crack rock steady' that dont have any connection to the original scene. great song though. definitely not a "knock-off" band.

Ok, here's one: it's a trip hop song where the main vocal sample is some dude talking about jazz (????), and the second half of it is scat singing. It's maybe 4 to 6 minutes long, and that's pretty much all I've got. Does this song even exist? Am I going insane???

There's this mellow (house? techno?) song with a soft, kinda feminine man's voice. The chorus goes like this: "She's insane, she's insane, she's insane..."

I heard it in a bar yesterday and I know I have heard it plenty times before.

Christmas (Christian?) Instrumental/Choir song I can't figure out.

I don't know much about music.

the melody goes something like

do do do do do do doo, do do do do doo, doo.

It was in the Flinstones Christmas Carol in the 90's , no luck finding their sound credits.

Then it does the same thing, but this is all filled with lyrics about Jesus Christ, but I can't figure it out yet. It's driving me crazy.

la la la la la la laa, la la la la laa, laa.

This will probably be about as vague as the rest, but here goes:

There was a semi-popular song within the last two to three years, especially in California. It was from a little-known folk singer from Los Angeles who formed a much bigger group, including a standup bass, violin, etc. Their popular song involved a duet between a guy and a girl, singing a chorus back and forth, from what I remember a "happy since I've found you" kind of thing.

It's driving me nuts and I can't remember any other lyrics or details.

Edit:
It was "Home" by these guys: Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

This has been bugging me ever since the album came out, and long ago I gave up on trying to figure it out but maybe someone can help. The main melody riff in this song, I'm 99% sure, is ripped off from/incredibly similar to the riff in an old, and popular, song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dv7vWV-uNMc

I know some riffs sound super familiar because lots of songs have used them, but there's a specific song that one is ripping and it's driving me batty now that I'm listening to the album again.

(I'm referring to the horn(?) riff that starts at 0:04 and goes through the whole song).

-Sounds classical.
-Zero vocals.
-Already existed by 2004.
-Goes from solo piano and gradually intensifies to a full orchestra.

Ahahaha, holy poo poo. I thought it was something from the 60s, but you're right, it's in there. I'm gonna go with "lots of songs have used it" because I can't imagine anyone deliberately ripping that song. (It's a piss easy riff to play on guitar, it's just an 0-2-3-2-0-2 run).

Thanks though. :)

Can anyone tell me what the song is in this Polaroid advert from 2000 please?

The lyrics seem to be taken from Three Dog Night's Joy to the World, but it's a completely different style and doesn't seem to be any of the cover versions I can find. (Also no info on the advertising agency's website)

I only remember that its a lovely teen pop-rock band. But the video is the band gathering the members up with their van to go to a show (original I know), the one guy has to jump out of the second floor widow to get past his parents, the other kid is kissing his girlfriend when the van pulls up but leaves her when he sees it, and the drummer is sleeping in his bed, they have to carry him to the van.

I used to listen to this song all the time and suddenly stopped. It popped into my head today and I cannot for the life of me remember the band or the song. ITS JUST SO drat CATCHY ITS KILLING ME.

Hi. I'm a Chelsea fan since 2010. Please murder me with a piece of pipe. thanks.
I'm thinking of some kind of cover of George Benson's Gimme the night but instead there's a girl singing it. I don't know if it's some kind of smooth soul jazz compilation album but before the song was Patrice Rushen "Forget me Nots" and couple songs after was Sade "Smooth Operator.'

It's not the one by Xavier, it's too techno. This cover kept the same smooth jazz feel of it.

I'm looking for a tune that I *thought* was a single last year by Beck, but I think I've just gone through every recent single of his and the two most recent Charlotte Gainsbourgh albums and I can't find it. It's a slow, languid song, soaked in reverb, very 60s (it's even got "shaboobedahp"-type 60s band vocals in it). If it's not Beck, it sure as hell sounds a lot like him. Thanks.

Got it (it isn't listed in his Wikipedia discography article):

I've got this song stuck in my head and I think I've probably heard it on tv promos for some new show.

It's a slower rock song with this this "bum bum bum" beat in the background and then the guitar plays a little riff and and it keeps repeating. I'm pretty sure at one point the guy is just singing "ba da da daa da, ba da da da".

What the hell is that song that plays in all the old 1950s "this is how things will be in the future, this housewife is able to run her entire house on this nuclear reactor in the kitchen" type cartoons/info-things?

It's a very upbeat and has a lot of plucked-string string instruments, it's basically the wonderful world of tomorrow theme whereas Powerhouse is the factory/industrial theme.

It's killing me and I can't figure out a search string to find it. :(
