WMX has better models, anyway. I seriously don't see the appeal of WME. Maybe someone can explain it to me? I've only compared the preview screenshots, so I haven't actually used it.Hobo on Fire posted:The Wendy Gilbert companion discussed earlier in the thread can actually do this. No real character back-story, no girlfriend plot (though her "sleepwear" is some custom transparent lingerie) Just someone who follows you around and can break out the bobby pins for you. You can assign her Tag skills when you pick her up, so I keep her around and have her focus on the skills my character is lacking on. I've plugged this mod before, because it really does seem to be about the most versatile companion mod out there. This sounds brilliant. But I really love the vanilla companions and the comments they make on quests/locations. I wonder if it would be impossible to apply those scripts or whatever to existing companions. I don't know anything about modding.

WME has a lot of compatibility patches with a lot of other mods. Back a while it used to be more of a preference thing. But WMX is still supported and WME is kinda dead. I used to use WME based on a recommendation when I first started playing, but since the only thing it has going for it is AG's Supplementary uniques I ended up ditching it for WMX for Aernovalis' WRT.

Is there a place where the latest version of DarnifiedUI is available? I never understood why they just keep making like 30+ topics for one mod and then after it gets closed it's almost impossible to find.

Does anyone know if the Chinese assault rifle and the railway rifle have their Fallout 3 sounds when you install from Project Nevada? If not would it be possible to port them in using the bsa browser like you do with the FO3 Weapon Restoration mod? Also what are "merged patches"? I've never heard about them until recently. They sound pretty important too. Is this what I should be doing when I'm got a bazillion DLC and compatibility patches? Oh god I'm freaking out.

You sort your load order, fire up FNVEdit, right click, select "Create merged patch" and go to town. Basically a good first defense against crashes/buggy as gently caress off game.

So what's the consensus on New Vegas Redesigned? I got tired of Veronica looking like she had a hair lip so I went poking around for companion redesigns. I found one that I like but it requires Redesigned 2. I like a lot of the redone faces in the previews but some stuff is just overzealous and ugly, like Mr Handy reskins. Is the mod over all good and is there a way I can pick and choose what of these things are modified? mango sentinel fucked around with this message at 00:34 on Feb 1, 2013 |

I have a somewhat retarded question, but a question anyway. Is there a way or mod to cheat myself the 7500 caps on the Sierra Madre casino? I really despise* gambling, gamblers, the concept of gambling, people who like gambling and people who make gambling equipment so I cannot be assed to try the idiotic requirement so I can claim my complimentary vouchers. *Mainly because I suck at it. Thank you, using that, I modded myself LUCK 10 and won the money MUCH more easily than with my LUCK 3. One thing that saddens me about Dead Money is Christine's ending. Her happy ending is to remain in a horrible place, watching over it, surrounded by the cloud and the ghost people. Wish there had been an option to bring her back to the Mojave and let her rekindle her relationship with Veronica. I also regret saving Dean, he is a disgusting piece of garbage. What he did to Vera, Sinclair and Christine is beyond forgiveness. TerryLennox fucked around with this message at 01:15 on Feb 3, 2013 |

Hobo on Fire posted:\/\/\/ Yes. She builds her skills as they get used; for lockpicking as an example, she'll gain a point every few times she opens something. If her skill is below the lock level, but still close, you can have her attempt to force it; she can at least make an attempt to open something where the player wouldn't at the same lockpick level. She can also use skill magazines for a temporary buff, or you can even give her actual skillbooks if you're so inclined. Other skills work on the same lines - give her a gun and let her kill things, her gun skill increases. Ask her for help at a workbench (which gives you a buff to your repair skill based on a percentage of hers) and her repair skill goes up. When you give a magazine, it does a bonus +10 ability (+20 if you have Comprehension) for several minutes and I think a permanent +1 to the skill. If you give a real-deal has-weight skillbook, it actually gives both the player and npc the permanent boost (again, affected by Comprehension). You can optionally use pre-war books (optionally with a cap of 24) as any-skill boosters to quickly get lockpick up but the player gets no shared benefit from that, it's more a quick customize option handled in a gameplay-friendly manner. After a successful item-box lockpick (takes a few seconds), it'll auto-open the box for you so you can be free to roam around the area checking other containers or sifting through junk.

That's one of the reasons why I like Lombard Station so much. So many shelves to fill with so many weapons and boxes of ammo. Yeah, you could handload most of the ammo, but it's not like you can make your own guns! And all weapons on the wall must be in pristine condition. help I have a problem

I've been playing Honest Hearts for the first time. (Well, all of the DLCs, first playthrough since launch.) The Survivalist's journals are... intense. February 14th They ate them. And then you read everything after, and it's not like him writing "I think I should just blow my brains out right now" (which he does write at an entirely different point). You can see how he writes and feel how dead he is inside because he becomes so very direct and methodical. It's been awhile since I was reminded how powerful text can be in games. Like, I don't really care much about fetching supplies but this stuff is good.

For anyone else having too fast gameplay/lip syncing problems with FNV4GB Apparently enabling V-sync will fix these issues, or at least it did for me. Checking the V-sync box in Options might not be enough, make sure to edit the three .ini files in your main game directory and My Documents directory so that "iPresentInterval=" is set to 1 instead of 0. You'll have to decide if the sluggish mouse input is worth FNV4GB's improvement in performance/stability, however.

Well, since my game glitched out due to insane sequence breaking on ol' generic gasmask (There were two dads, one alive and one dead with two Colonel Autumns in the final showdown of the Main Quest. Who were both set to essential.) I ended up loading up another save profile and sent my 'pretty much finished the entire game' Desert Ranger character over with an entirely different type of Wasteland-changing mod. There was a dialogue choice that was hilariously appropriate for it, so I couldn't help but put in: Also a cool 'lil "feature" of TTW is that Enclave dudes will vary between using the Remnants armor and the Enclave armor for their troops, which gives them a little more variety (and a lot more DT!).

And I managed to fill almost the entire wall too before I stopped playing. Oh and saving at least one of each armor as well. In pristine condition. Which usually meant I hauled around way too much stuff while playing the DLCs because I just had to save at least one of every new weapon/armor I came across.

I remember some weapons being futzy, either requiring you to use the auto sorter or manually putting them into the appropriate container to get them to display. Try both to see if that will fix it. Do you have all of Arenovalis' weapon retextures? IIRC, some weapons won't show up without them. Also, you probably know this already, but the unique variants of weapons will take the spot of normal weapons if there isn't a separate slot for them on the wall. As far as ammo, I think some explosives simply weren't showing up for me, they just went straight to the unsorted container thingy or stayed in my inventory. That gap in my otherwise full shelves drove me nuts
