Now, that level of irony is actually painful. I love it when suuuper Patriotic "Real" Americans play that song.

Well it is a somewhat tricky song since the vocals and chorus make it seem uplifting until you follow the story told by the lyrics.

Romney said we needed to expand the navy because we have a record low number of boats, completely ignoring the fact that one boat now has way more capability and size of the boats from the freaking civil war. So yes they love him as he is just as insane and stupid as they are.

Not to mention air power is where it's at. Air power is to the Americans what naval power was to the British.

Which part of the constitution allows regular citizens to arrest congress and the president again? Is it right next to the "this is a christian nation" and "this document is perfect forever and should never be changed or doubted?"

Conveniently enough the Constitution allows the opposite scenario where Habeas Corpus can be suspended due to a crisis or rebellion.

Yeah he basically provided funding for liberal causes, which put him on the right wing conspiracy theory list. He also almost broke the British pound through some cunning currency manipulation.

Maybe one of you guys can go throw this up on TCP? Actually bothered to look up the law on D.C. citizen's arrest.

pre:
DC ST § 23-582

Formerly cited as DC ST 1981 § 23-582

District of Columbia Official Code 2001 Edition Currentness
Division IV. Criminal Law and Procedure and Prisoners.
Title 23. Criminal Procedure. (Refs & Annos)
Full text of all sections at this level Chapter 5. Warrants and Arrests.
Full text of all sections at this level Subchapter V. Arrest Without Warrant. (Refs & Annos)
Current selection§ 23-582. Arrests without warrant by other persons.

(a) A special policeman shall have the same powers as a law
enforcement officer to arrest without warrant for offenses committed within
premises to which his jurisdiction extends, and may arrest outside the premises
on fresh pursuit for offenses committed on the premises.

(b) A private person may arrest another --

 (1) who he has probable cause to believe is COMMITTING in his presence --

  (A) a felony; or

  (B) an offense enumerated in section 23-581(a)(2); or

 (2) in aid of a law enforcement officer or special policeman,
or other person authorized by law to make an arrest.

(c) Any person making an arrest pursuant to this section shall deliver
the person arrested to a law enforcement officer without unreasonable delay.
So unless they can barge into congress and find them stealing cars or another felony, they actually can't do anything.

Also, they have to deliver the lawbreaker to an actual officer of the peace, and it sounds like the police are precisely the people that they want to arrest, so it's like an ouroboros of stupid.

He donates to the Obama campaign, since our elections run on money and noise, not ideas.

The Koch brothers more or less run a big chuck of the GOP (Paul Ryan, Scott Walker, AFP, recently Cato) - they generate alot of the "Libertarian" rhetoric because the anarchocapitalist implications benefit their Rand-Stalinist vision.

Of course Tea Parties can't parse this as rhetoric being fed to them, these are COMMON SENSE ideas. Soros was brought up by the right wing media so bringing up the Kochs brothers invokes 'the other team does it!'

Karl Rove's 'attack their strength': accuse the other guy of doing what you're doing, so when they call you out it becomes meaningless.
