At least they're playing one more date in Lancaster before they call it. I wouldn't mind seeing them in Philly too but there's no way I'm making the March 27th date.

It's amazing what they can do with computers these days.

Indeed, I just saw Eric "Monty" Morris this past weekend, he was one of the original singers with The Skatalites back in like 1964. It was stupidly fun. The Slackers are coming to Chicago in April and I can't wait to see them too.

Just found Smerin's Anti-Social Club on Bandcamp. It's a Bristol group that uses a lot of elements from Big Brass, Swing, Funk, Reggae and Rap, along with ska and rock. The style really varies from song to song but it's all good stuff with really killer horns.

Thought I'd plug my brothers band in here, The Resignators from Melbourne. They're just gearing up to release a new EP after a successful kickstarter (well, it's Australian equivalent Pozible) called Down in Flames, and will be doing a tour of the US around end of May start of June. Here's a link to the EP http://theresignators.bandcamp.com/album/down-in-flames

Also, fun fact, the guitarist was the one of the founding members of GWAR

Yeah, I think he's friends with Dave Brockie from a long, long way back, he was in Death Piggy and they apparently still keep in touch, he was only on Hell-o before he left though. How he ended up in a small country town in Australia after leaving GWAR I have no idea

There are heaps around the place not on Quote unquote. Could it be this one? It isn't on the free digital download of Vacation and they opened with it at a couple of shows I was at recently.

They also did a pretty cool Since U Been Gone cover.

E; I keep saying Jeff should put out another Others! album.

I missed this, and it seriously rules.

Also, I don't know if you guys have heard of them before, but I heard a couple songs by the German band, Stan or Itchy. They're pretty great, and rather reminiscnet of Save Ferris' style (as well as because they too have a female frontman).

I just got my hopes up that this one site I occasionally write for would have it up for review and I could call dibs and then my review would just be a long description of the masturbation session that followed, only to have them dashed on the rocks of life.

I actually thought it was too when they started playing. For such a depressing song it freakin' went off.

So I saw four of their shows on their final tour and every one finished with I don't love you anymore. I only realised a week later that there was (probably) a reason for it. So the song's originally a metaphor for giving up on drinking, but could equally apply to why they aren't touring anymore for the same reasons.
It's also just a really fun song.
