There's this song I heard years ago, it was from some two man indie-pop group with a chick and a dude and the song was made from everyday sounds. The music video was a stop motion of the things that they used to make the song. It had chimes and poo poo.

No, this was a song from 2006, and the video was pretty popular on Youtube at the time. I may have the genre wrong, they were definitely indie as hell so they must have been an experimental electropop group.

The video was bright and colorful, so it's very likely. There were trashcans being used as drums, and rain beating against empty mason jars too. I'm only half remembering stuff from like 7 years ago, though.

I'm going to start digging through the back catalogue myself soon, but I was wondering if there's anyone who can help with this: I was watching a goon with a goldfish memory stream Euro Truck Simulator 2012 earlier, and he was playing nothing but Mr. Oizo. I'm trying to find out what the song was that was playing when he first got sound working on the stream, I only caught the last ten seconds of it or so. I don't remember any beat going at the time, but the song ended on an upbeat, major-key synth doodle of sorts.

If anyone can identify the AFX/Aphex Twin songs used in this video (3 songs, about 10 mins) I will be in your debt :)

Also, I heard another song at H&M about 2 months ago. It had an upbeat instrumental part and then a male voice came in and started rapping. The lyrics went something like this:

"show them what you got"
"make it easy"
"all the things (that?) you do"
"yeah it's true"

Google, iTunes, and YouTube have been unhelpful so far.

Slow it down and you're pretty close to Debbie Gibson's "Lost In Your Eyes." I really hope that's it.

Ehh. I don't think I'd straight up remember the chord change wrong. You know what I'm thinking it is now? I'm thinking some composer for movie underscore jacked that part and it was in some kid movie I saw in the 90's. I remember when some thing I just recall out of nowhere was something I made up myself. Ah, well. Thanks, bro.

You guys were fantastic last time so I'm trying this again. A few weeks ago a Swede recommended me a hip hop song he said was very popular there that had a chorus that sounded sort of like some Sami folk chant. I recently heard another song with an almost identical chorus, sounds almost like yodeling. It's a weird combination of sounds and I have no idea why I want to hear it again, but I can't stop trying to remember the name of it.

I know this isn't it, but I want it to be. It's a Norwegian song with some spoken lyrics and a chorus with some strange sounds in it anyway...

There's a music video that's been playing on MTV recently. The only thing I remember about it is that it one point it has a fly-over of a Minecraft village with some funky colour filters. I tried googling when I first saw it but I couldn't find anything on the minecraft aspect of it and I can't find anything when I google "Minecraft village music video" now.

The problem is now I've mentioned it to some people who play Minecraft and they all think I'm lying/insane. Help. :(

Successfully predicted nine of the last five recessions

I was in a Mexican restaurant yesterday and mun2 was playing music videos. The video had two guys, one of which was really skinny, singing to a girl in a doorway behind a grate with a mariachi band playing behind them. Occasionally it would switch to a bro-y looking guy with the mariachi band still behind him. It was really catchy but I don't even know where to start finding it. Any help would be appreciated.

I heard a rock/metal song that featured a harmonica in a crowded bar a few months back. No, it was not "Train, Train" by Blackfoot.

Edit: also not Volbeat.

I heard a song on the radio today (it's one of those stations not linked with https://www.yes.com).

Anyway it sounds like a Scorpions or Def Leppard style song. I'm 99% sure it's from the 80s or early 90s. Slow and strained, painful singing, high-pitched but also very slow paced. This seems to make it somewhat distinctive.

One of the first lyrical segments opens with a slow "Try, try..." and another segment has I believe "If you ever..."

edit: I found it. It was Scorpions - Still Loving You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUMcA--ejOc Apparently this is what's called a power ballad. I need to check out Scorpions full catalog. I keep coming across individual tracks I like.

I've wasted far too long trying to figure out what this song is, so here goes:

A song that has a similar vocal melody to the first five notes on the strings of this Ray Charles song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRgWBN8yt_E

The song I'm looking for has semi-chanted/gang vocals similar to those string notes, but it keeps on descending. I'm thinking it might be some kind of 70s arena rock band, I'm not sure.

e: Solved! It was 'God Gave Rock and Roll to You'

This one's been bugging me for a long time.

Lots of synths, lots of bass, pretty funky beat, production sounded really 80s. Reminded me of The Power Station a little.

Lyrics about a dangerous woman being too much for the singer. Pretty sure the chorus refers to her as "Miss Demeanor" and asks "am I qualified?", but I've had no luck referencing either of those snippets.

I'm looking for a song that might have been in a trailer or some kind of workout montage scene. It starts with three trumpet notes (or some kind of brass, I'm not sure) that goes "baah bah BAH" and the percussion comes in on the last BAH. I could've sworn it was in Ocean's Eleven or something like it, but I'm trying to go back and find it and have no clue. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
