Ahahaha. That's great, especially since the '10+ MS3's torque steer is reportedly quite a bit less than the '07-'09.

That's the big new trend in street rods. Pro Touring has moved on from muscle cars to the street rod crowd as they've finally stopped worshiping at the House of Boyd and Billet. Muscle cars are starting to trend towards the 70's "street freak" quasi-Pro Street look of jacked up rear ends and wild engines poking through hoods, you'll start seeing more of those in the next few years. 50's and early 60's cars are firmly in a gasser nostalgia kick.

Rat rods, mercifully, are starting to die out.

e- at the end he talks about the chassis like it's the first time anyone has built a tube frame off of a set of boxed deuce framerails :wtc:

In the days after the original Mazda MS3 came out there was so many people who proclaimed LOOK NO TORQUE STEER!, even on this forum. Which of course was BS. So I would take claims of less torque steer with a lot of doubt.

Well, I haven't driven the 2010+ MS3 so I can't personally comment on how much less torque steer it has than my '07... but I can absolutely say I'm too scared to even attempt that hands-off maneuver anywhere this side of a very large, very empty skidpad.

From what I heard, the new Focus ST really is especially good. It's definitely on my list for possible future cars.

I have a short list of preferred manufacturers that actually know how to make everyday cars handle really well and Ford, Peugeot, Mazda and Alfa Romeo are right at the top of that list.

I'm getting one to drive for a week, in April, so I'll see then. From all my colleagues' accounts it's great, though not quite as sharp as the Megane RS - and that car is fantastically fast when driven properly, but as lairy as a FWD gets when you just chuck it around.

Practically, the Focus wins for being a five-door. And not a French car. :q:

"Giorgio survived this ordeal with a few broken bones and second-degree burns."

I honestly did not expect him to escape with such relatively mild injuries. Especially considering how absolutely useless the first response from the marshals and safety crews was. Yeah, spraying at the rear of the engine is sure to help save the guy trapped inside the burning cabin.

I thought rotor limitations were around 4 rotors because of crankshaft length issues mixed with high torque.

No problem if you use a centre bearing between each rotor. It's also preferable if you want to rev the poo poo out of one for extended periods of time.

Is it me or does that camber actually seem to help keep the front tires somewhat more level when the wheels are locked out during a hard drift? Thats the only functional explanation I can come up with.

That is the exact reason. Negative Camber up front helps maximize the contact patch of the front tires.

Except that is the job of caster, not as much static camber. Everything is messed with for geometry, they're made for massive understeer to keep stable at huge angles.

edit: That is also not at all how you start such an expensive engine, that idiocy is reserved for 40 year old lawnmowers.
