Today was the first Minnesota Cars and Coffee for 2013. It was the first time I'd gone, so it was all new to me. Lots of cool stuff to see, here's my highlights.

This guy was showing his Tesla. I was shocked how much storage space there was. The trunk is enormous, and the back seats are perfectly usable.

A couple old Ferraris. I warmed my hands above the engine cover of the red one.

The highlight of the day for me, an E-Type. All cars should have hoods this long.

A newer Ferrari showed up and made a bit of noise before parking.

Countach sitting in one of the hangars.

Me on the left! Here's where I ended up parked. You can see the E-Type and such in the background. I saw a handful of groups checking out the Z4 as I was wandering around

Good time! I'm definitely going back again this summer. I'm curious to see how busy it gets when it warms up (barely above 40F today).

The April & May shows are always small because it's still cold. June is when it starts picking up, and July is usually the best month to go. It's warm in the morning but not hot, the car turnout is fantastic, and the place is packed. My car was in the Audi row but I had to leave early.

Here's that Ferrari with the other cars that were at the LaMettry's tent, and my S4 in its former stock mode.

What's cantilevered over the velocity stacks? MAF sensors or something? But that wouldn't make any sense if it were carbed.

I took some pictures at the car / bike / truck / boat show this morning. I was having child related technical difficulties so the photos aren't amazing. This seems like the best thread to put them at the moment.
The imgur album link is there. It took nearly an hour to upload the drat photos. The ones of the lake are an attempt to capture the stupidly fast radio control boats, and some ducks. I really need another lens.

Water injection. That engine's knock control system will just keep on adding fuel/timing until it measures an ideal ionization rate. I can't remember where I read it but straight water injection with a little tuning will yield a huge amount of power. TMU might have it somewhere on their site but it's a mess.

At first I thought, "No-way, the engine in the SAAB 99/900 is turned with the flywheel at the front! How'd they get an AUDI transmission to bolt to motor just behind the radiator, swing under the motor and get power to all wheels?" Then I realized, "Wait, that motor is turned backwards, or frontwards, or whatever it is it's opposite of how SAAB did it. Flywheel in the back. Holy poo poo!"

Wow, much cheaper than I paid for mine. I bought it for 4200 Yen at the Mazda museum in Hiroshima, about $40 at the time (the one on the bottom I mean, the top one was a few dollars).

Here are some other pics from the museum.

Got these at the Lamborghini Festival yesterday.

The big deal for me, of course, was getting to finally see a Miura in person.

12 carbs? How could you possibly keep this running correctly?

Also, hadn't seen one of these in person either.

And these guys were great. Lots of fun seeing them go around the track.

Didn't get to see the Miura move, or start up, but they had just about every other Lamborghini ever produced as well as a bunch of Porsches, a McLaren MP4-12C, and a handful of Ferraris going around the track.
