Also, loving Talco - Combat Circus if you don't mind people singing in other languages. Actually, doesn't loving matter, just listen to it anyway. The only bad FIF album might be Quantity is Job 1 but that's only because it's all over the place and really messy. Near the end of their touring they were only playing One Girl Army off of it and anything else got shuffled into that little "These Songs Don't Matter Anymore" medley. If you're gonna get into them for their upcoming album then you may as well start from Electric Boogaloo because that and The End is Here is the direction their music is in now. I personally like The End is Here the most only because it has the best opening stretch of songs in their catalog and it flows perfectly. Oh geez that is a lot of ska. I'm working my way through it, and I really dig the Toasters and Less Than Jake so far. (I also grabbed the rest of Streetlight's stuff and some merch, really love those guys.) It's gonna take me a while to work through all this stuff guys, but thanks a lot! I definitely like Third Wave (and I guess post-Third Wave apparently) more than the earlier stuff, but I'm liking stuff like Skatellites too.

May I also suggest RxBandits, but only if you listen to them in order and even maybe skipping Mandala because it's too different. Progress-The Resignation-And The Battle Begun. It's a great progression from solid but typical Third Wave ska into a more progressive form. I love it all, but especially the Resignation. There's more than a hint of the Police in there.

My order would be for someone new to BTMI! Adults!!! To Leave or Die in Long Island Get Warmer Scrambles Goodbye Cool World Album Minus Band Others! Others! Vacation Vacation last because it's BTMI's most complete album as a whole and will be fully appreciated heard last.

Scrambles/Adults/Vacation, listened to in that order, is the Top Tier BtMI album, no questions asked. I love listening to them that way, because you start with stuff like 25, bemoaning the way life's going, and ending with Campaign for a Better Next Weekend, realizing that life's going lovely because you think it's going lovely and you need to enjoy it while you can. Also because Campaign for a Better Next Weekend is easily one of my top five BtMI songs.

When I started coming into this thread last year to hear about the new Streetlight, everyone was constantly talking about Vacation and how good it was, and quite a lot of people gave me the impression that everything before that was so badly produced it was basically unlistenable. So, I went and just got Vacation and loved it so much. Such a great album. Recently checked out everything before it, cautiously, and was so surprised when all of it was also very good. Scrambles/Adults/Vacation is such a good trilogy but everything else is also rad.

I whole heartedly suggest 'No Self Control' by the Planet Smashers in addition to all the other bands I threw at you earlier. You may also enjoy MU330 / Dan Potthast. Potthast has covered multiple Streetlight Manifesto songs on his split with Tomas so it might be an easier shift while hearing more sounds of the genre E: vvv Read as Slapshot and I totally jumped out of my skin with excitement. Progress still had a lot of ska and reggae influence though. I would say that was when they stopped really making ska music and became more of a prog rock band with The Resignation and ...And The Battle Begun. They distanced themselves even further with Mandala by not having horns and pretty much the only song having any sort of ska/reggae style being Bury It Down Low. One of my favorite bands and definitely agree that every album is better than the last. Mandala is so good.

all first three albums are incredible. everything, it's incredible. GCW is probably my favorite of the first three, I'm always apprehensive of giving those albums first to the doubtful, hence my precession, but they're much better than they'll ever get credit because of Scrambles and post. So, I just listened to Smash Mouth's first album for the first time ever today. Heard Walkin on the Sun on the radio, decided to put the whole album on at work.
