They don't need to be constantly wet. I would hope that the capybara has a nicer place to stay when it's not on display, though.

But I think they're more fun to watch if you give them a place to swim.

I love watching the dogs in cars where I work. A few regulars have dogs who, when the driver gets out, will immediately move to sit in the driver's seat. One time when the driver returned, the dog didn't want to move, and had to be pushed before he'd move back to the passenger side. :3:

I haven't even known about them that long! They're common as dirt in a big chunk of South America, and Japan loves them as petting zoo attractions, but as a Canadian I just haven't really had any exposure to them. I had never even heard of them until I was doing research on rodents last summer. Now I'm totally obsessed with them because they're just so intensely cute. They're not very pretty animals but when they're taken care of you can tell that they really enjoy being alive.

My grandpa had a Border Collie who went everywhere with him in his truck. Of course, being creepy smart, it didn't take her long to figure out how to honk the horn if she thought he was taking too long with his errands.

I don't know if this is appropriate but here we go.

I took a day off work and spent 3 hours on public transport to see a horse. Myself and my old man went to Punchestown to see Sprinter Sacre. Neither of us have ever bet money on him and probably never will. Hes imho the best racehorse in the world right now. Without doubt the more beautiful, graceful and well proportioned horse I've ever seen. It was a great day. Nobody there ever experienced such excitement about seeing a single horse.

Look how elegant he is with his best friend Sarwah Mohammed.

Now if only there was an easy way to arrange that. I guess I shouldn't complain, I did get to pet a baby rhino at one point, though I doubt that's as soft as an anteater's snout. :v:

You didn't say what I think you said...
I was going to post an E/N thread about this, but don't want to put in the effort.

Short version is this - my dad's first wife divorced him because he didn't have any money, couldn't read or write and was destined to be a loser his entire life. And, oh, she had met someone from the office and was moving out right then.

My dad died in 2010.

I found out a couple weeks ago that my oldest brother-in-law and myself have been named executors of my mom's will. And that we are the executors of an estate worth close to $1.5 million.

My mom and dad took a lot of trips after they retired, to places all over the world. I never questioned their 'extravagance' knowing my dad's construction worker background and mom's RN background. I just thought they were spending everything they saved on themselves and that was that. As right it should be.

The lived in the same trailer park I grew up in all their lives, and my mom has no intention of moving out until she has to.

Turns out that selling your share of the farmland you grew up on as a kid to Monsanto at the height of an agriculture boom is rather lucrative. Who knew?
