We are in the strong father model. Dad beats us to teach us right from wrong. Presumably when we demonstrate that we have internalized the moral structure he stops beating us, unless he is a deviant, which does not seem likely. Of course we don't have that theory, but we don't need it to see Dad and our future responsibilities in a new light. Apparently Dad can see large movements in the world through looking at small patterns. We might not name it that way, but that is some pretty cool mojo in any case. One consequence of taking it more seriously (which we should do) is that our world view changes and while we still believe in El and such they might occur for as sort of 'frivolous' compared with the old school Hunger of Asherah, Will of Asherah and such, particularly if we start to get 'feedback loops' beyond those provided by Dad's beatings. We should take our lessons seriously of our own volition, rather than as a result of potential beatings and see what happens. Og the Serious. Og the Studious. Og the Seer of Large Things in a Grain of Sand.

I am going to start working on the rest of the questions. In the mean time, DO YOU RE-PRIORITIZE YOUR TIME TO TAKE YOUR FATHERS LESSONS MORE SERIOUSLY? Do you stop running off to go fish with Jorah, swim in the ocean alone and be with Jalitha? A. Yes. B. No.

Yes Though I still want to spend time with Jorah and especially Jalitha. I'd rather give up being alone more.

Devote time to our studies. I really hate to give up time alone in the ocean or with Jorah, but we're already falling behind in our apprenticeship and I suspect the skills our Dad has to teach us will be really valuable later on (like when we try to survive our manhood ritual, for example.) Yes It was well that we could experience the freedom of the sea and the still and silent strength of our own company. Now responsibility beckons, we are to be the priest of the Great Fish. Surely we must do well by our father and holy Asherah now that we are growing toward manhood.

Your father expects you to spend a majority of your time, every day, either with him, or doing the tasks he has given you. Right now, he only has a large minority and you frequently simply run off to go fish with your uncle Jorah, or to swim alone, or to be with Jalitha.

We should reprioritize 50/50, mostly taking away from Jalitha. If we are going to be serious about being one with the ocean we still need to be interacting with it. Maybe we can reason with dad to let us have time to swim alone and go with jorah. We can still run off time to time. Maybe tell dad the ocean calls to us and you cannot ignore it, we don't mean to be disobedient.

You live in an isolated village and have no frame of reference to know how many elderly people should be in your village. Yes on reprioritizing. I figured it was more a 'vote' for reshaping our character to be a bit more dutiful, but yes, it makes sense that if we're that taken with what dad is saying, we'd be willing to spend most of the time he demands from us with him. I figure, given the general theme of the world, there's a solid chance we're going end up in something like another 'Onegod' scenario, as El, the Nicegod, begins sweeping through the world, and we'll eventually have to choose between our God of hunger and fickle whims, and a God of Warmth and Protection and Love and Superdudes or something. Regardless of how we want to go, I think it'll be most interesting if we have as much information on the available parties as possible.

Yes on prioritizing, however I would like to take time away from playing alone and hanging out with Jalitha. I think fishing with Jorah and hanging out with the other uncle are important too. With no friends, we need to learn how to behave from our father and uncles - instead of being antisocial. We love Jalitha, but her filling our head with weird tales takes time away from learning about our Gods.
