For people using gifcam who want to edit their gifs without resorting to technical wizardry, there's a website called ezgif.com that can do that sort of thing pretty much automatically. Upload the gif to the site, and there's some options for resizing, recolouring and cropping. It's certainly no replacement for some of the awesome stuff you can do with editing programs, but for quick and dirty gifs it seems fine.
