Really? On the tour where Animals as Leaders were supporting Meshuggah? Because I was completely bored by Intronaut.

I don't really post in this forum much, but I take it there's some Slough Feg fans in here? If so, a dude just posted the demo track from their new album on Metal Blade.

Slough Feg is probably my favorite band at the moment, it's amazing how underrated they are.

They're definitely cool, though their last album didn't really do a lot for me/stick with me. This track isn't bad, curious to hear the new album. I didn't realize they'd signed with Metal Blade

The Animal Spirits was a bit weak, I'm a Traveller and prior fan mostly, but the new song is great. They have such a varied style, it'll be interesting to see if it's a straight metal album or if it has some prog to it like usual. I'd suspect that if they're on Metal Blade now, the new album is going to be more traditional metal.

e- If anyone has never heard them, try out Traveller. It's a concept album based on a late 70's pen and paper RPG of the same name and it loving owns.

From a couple of pages back, but I just want to say I am loving the poo poo out of their new album, Kingdom of Conspiracy - the title track (and opener) alone is almost worth the sticker price.

Check it out.

I can tell you a little more about monkeys. They are featured in metal music sometimes, it's pretty cool, like in Pig Destroyer's The Diplomat MV. Well I guess those are more like apes but still. It's part of the style.

Speaking of which, the new TBDM is really solid. I lost interest with them around Nocturnal but the new album has a lot of old school death metal influences, which offsets the hypermelodic solos really nicely!

Yeah, they are a sort of hit-and-miss group, but when they're on their game it's quite good. I haven't checked their new album out yet. Waiting to get paid so I can pick that one and the new Alice in Chains up. BTW ANYONE KNOW HOW THE NEW ALICE IN CHAINS IS?

I can't stop listening to 'Edge of the Earth' by Sylosis. I'm still reeling from how good their vocalist/lead guitarist is. Just phenomenal. As far as songwriting and technicality goes they just hit the nail right on the head for me. Could anyone suggest bands with similar styles to this? Like fast, hard but with the slowed down "epic" guitar sections too? Good guitar solos would be a huge bonus.

Heard this was good, and was really digging it until 6 minutes in. Well, Kalmah's new album is out there -Seventh Swamphony. From the songs they've officially released, it can go either way. Deadfall was great. The other two had their moments but were largely pretty boring and sounded like a lot of the kind of metal I try to avoid.

Maybe this will be good and tasty, last time Kalmah made an album they released their weakest tracks too, and 12 Gauge was really drat good in my eyes.

Edit: Okay, this sounds rad as hell.

Edit 2: Didn't see it had already been discussed, still is awesome.
