Calspan has a Saab 340A with an F-16 radar system grafted on. I've never even thought to take any pictures of it when it's been up in my hangar for maintenance, so here's someone else's picture. Thanks, someone else!

BAE 737 CAT-Bird Flying JSF test bed I remember my group getting asked for any volunteers to sit inside a cramped 737 on the tarmac at Mojave stringing harnesses and updating drawings. One one hand, it sounded neat to be around that stuff. On the other hand, dying of heat stroke in a tin can in the desert sounds lame. The folks who came back didn't seem like they had a very good time.

I still don't think it's a good-looking airplane, but the A350 definitely photographs much worse than it looks in-person. I can't get past the nose. It's also bigger than the pictures would have you believe.

I've been led to understand that they're kind of keeping the A350 on the hush-hush at the moment, because fancy rollouts kind of look dumb if the project turns into a headache afterwards as has been common recently.

A rack of CFD machines, no doubt. The winglets, on the other hand, are a work of art and much more worthy of the "sharklet" name that ended up with the A320 blended winglet.

The 777-300 and the A350-1000 are almost identical in size. It doesn't do a good job showing the size pairs.

That's accurate, based on what I've read about the A350...it covers the upper end of the 767/787/A330 market while also finally giving Airbus an aircraft that can truly compete with the 777, especially the B/C market versions (the -300ER and -200LR to an extent). And yes, Airbus and Boeing are keeping things very low-key in light of the PR nightmares they've suffered in the last decade. That said the rumour on the banana forums is that the A350 might make a flyover of the Paris Air Show in a week's time. I have my doubts about that, but it would be a hell of a PR stunt.

True, but it's never been a part of the house Airbus livery. Not even for the Belugas or flight test A320s that have been repainted in the past few months. We'll know one way or the other in a few days.

It's a DC-10. They should fill the fuselage with fire retardant, so when it inevitably spirals into the wildfire it will put it out.
