We are talkin about two guys who love to gently caress with the nerds and spergs. That one episode girl who I don't care to remember her name. They wrote her off. The orb which ended up not working and was destroyed. I really doubt they are going to say omg brothers angle. They aren't going to explain why Monarch hates Rusty because it defeats their point. People get obsessive over dumb rear end small details and those two poke fun at people who do.

Considering some of the silly references the creators like to do, I could see Rusty and Monarch being swapped children in the same vein as DC's DarkSeid(Side) did with his offspring or even a throw back to some 60's era controlled psychological experiments where Monarch and his parents were meant to be the control group (in Central or South America for some reason?).

More than likely it will be something like Rusty and Monarch had a falling apart over some girl when locked in the basement for one of Jonas' swinging key parties.

I'm fine with Monarch being Rusty's long lost brother as long as they never explain why the Monarch hates Rusty so much.

I hope with every fibre of my being this reveal turns out to be so incredibly depressing that all the theory sperges cry themselves to sleep.

Something as basic as 'Jonas Snr. and the Monarch family where friends before the plane crash.' Nothing more. No brothers, no genetic clones, no slave babies - just another broken orb.

I liked it better when I was able to just assume it was the Monarch completely overreacting to T.S. making fun of his way too specific poems about butterflies.

My guess (which I'm sure someone else made in the past 400+ posts I haven't read) is that The Monarch will be Rusty's *half-brother* because Jonas Sr. had his parents over for a key party.

Absolutely. Was it ever assumed Dr.Quym was Rustys half sister?

I came up with this one today: The Monarch is actually a 1st generation Rusty clone that didn't come out the way Jonas wanted, so he adopted him out.

The brother/half-brother theory seems too obvious. Look at every other mystery that they've revealed: that bodyguard broke the Orb instead of killing Doc's grandfather, Brock's supposed son turns out to be the result of Doc banging the teenage president of his fan club, Hank didn't get his high school diploma because the printer jammed, Billy lost his hand in a dog fight (and not in a time machine that sent it to the future)... saying that Tad Venture and the Monarch are siblings seems lazy by Venture Bros standards. Jonas Sr. hooking up with the Monarch's mom is pretty likely, and they'll probably reveal that as a way to string along an "are they or aren't they brothers" plot line, but the final answer can't be that obvious. I'd be a little disappointed if it was, honestly.

On the other hand, it would be fun to see the Killinger plot line come full circle, with Doc and the Monarch teaming up as brothers and villains to arch Jonas Jr.

There was a thing I noticed on a rewatch of "Cleansuit.". During the scene where Hank was throwing stuff at Hatred, the very last thing he threw hit Hatred in the tit and he reacted like it was far more sensitive than a guy normally would. His tits must have stared coming in by then.

The Monarchs were in the neighbourhood and thought they'd stop by and say hello on the way to the store. They never saw the Ventures before or again.

I loved the line from Hatred about how the Monarch would just steal crap from him, and paint it yellow.

He wasn't reverse engineering the stuff or anything, literally just ripping it off and using it himself. I can imagine him doing his amazing "MINIONS! Hurry up and finish painting the acid magnet, I don't want Venture thinking it belongs to Seargent Haych-face."

On a similar vein, I'd love a flashback episode about Hatred back in his glory days of arching, when there was 'More hate in the ol' hate tank.'

Man, they really pushed out a hilarious mess. My prediction for the photo is that the Monarch will go nuts trying to find out its significance and in the season finale it'll turn out to be really dumb. Anyway, my favourite line was probably "Hank is ready to enter destiny. I'm going to help him; I've done it before."

The wording used definitely is meant to imply that they are brothers. "There I am playing with Doctor Venture" is supposed to initially make you think he means Dr Jonas Venture, but doesn't make sense and clearly means Rusty. He says his parents are in the background, but never actually mentions Jonas.

Now that said there is no way that is the case. I think it's pretty much impossible that the Monarch wouldn't know who Jonas Venture was, given that there is a huge rear end statue of him in front of the compound he attacks every day (among other things).

Clever way to get us theorycrafting though.

Somebody before pointed out that it's been indicated on the show that he does know who Jonas was, but if it hadn't been, I could absolutely see it coming up as a point that he doesn't know the guy. Tad and the Monarch are stuck together for whatever reason, and Thaddeus for whatever other reason winds up yelling at him. "He's my dad! How do you not know this? There's a big statue of him on my lawn!" "Oh, is that who that is? I thought it was [insert pop culture reference here]." Classic Venture Bros.
