So, this is kind of a surprise. Nintendo is considering localizing Tomodachi Collection.

No loving way. I'm shocked they are even considering it and have no idea how the Western market would welcome it, but drat, if it isn't good to see them trying to bring more games here. Project X Zone, Project Diva, Tomodachi Collection, Toro's Friend Network? Japanese CEOs are finally thinking the rest of the world may want their crazier titles. And thank heavens they do. Back in the day I never thought Seaman would leave Japan, either.

Hello, dumb question because I am a dumb person, is it bad for my battery to leave my 3DS in the charging cradle all the time when not in use? The last time I had a handheld was when they still used AA batteries, so I"m kinda stupid about this sort of thing.

Regy Rusty posted:Yeah the spider bosses are bullshit because they completely remove the interesting part of the game's combat system by taking up the whole field. However, all the spider bosses, including the super secret hardest boss in the game, are actually really easy to render completely effortless if you use the right strategy. I would tell you what this is, but I can't remember it. I do know I looked it up at the time and you can basically cheat the game's system to render them totally non-threatening. The spider bosses are all vulnerable to the Poison status, so if you have a way to inflict poison you can focus purely on staying alive while its health ticks down and then finish it off once it's down to 1 HP. I am so, so happy that it appears the market is finally shifting back to the PS2 generation's bravado of just accepting anything and everything overseas. We got so much weird poo poo on the platforms in that generation and it makes me smile to see it happening again.

Did anyone else have trouble with the jump height in DKCR? Played it over the weekend and overall thought that the levels were awesome, a lot of great moments, and the black/white/red levels were all amazing. But there were a handful of minecart levels that got frustrating for me as the height of jumps was very hard for me to get down for some reason. Like, you'd need to tap A lightly to make a short jump in time to make another jump, but I always seemed to go flying over the short gap, over the platform, and into the next pit. Did anyone else have trouble with this/know what I'm talking about? That game is worth playing for the soundtrack, intro/boss/ending movies, and the black/white levels alone.

Yep, the PS2 era was really the last time I got interested in anything like that; the 3ds is probably the first thing to get me back into Japanese stuff in the past decade.

I really like what i'm getting on 3DS and i'm kinda half hoping Nintendo goes whole hog with the WiiU with the Platinum stuff and that SMTxFire Emblem. I'd love it if it turned out to be the Nippon box. Keeping my eye on the PS4 to see what gets there. Commissar Ken fucked around with this message at 23:56 on Jun 17, 2013 |

Detective No. 27 posted:I got stuck at that Desert Spider thing or whatever it is. I think I'd be willing to sit down and finish the game if I knew a strategy against it. Make your party Stocke (of course), Raynie, and Marco. Aht and Eruca are very fragile and are difficult to keep alive in this battle, and since it takes up all 9 squares, Aht can't use traps so her usefulness is severely limited. Have Marco cast Magic Up on Raynie, and poison the spider with either Raynie's Poison Strike or with a Poison Wing item. Focus mainly on keeping yourself alive (the poison will eventually get it to 1 HP if you wait long enough). Whenever you feel comfortable attacking, try to strategically change turns and use Mana Bursts to give you a large combo, then have Marco use all of his turns casting Trans-Turn with Raynie, so that only Raynie and Stocke get turns (if Raynie's buff has worn off, have Marco recast at the start of the combo). Alternate between G-Fire with Raynie and Double Slash with Stocke, and you can deal quite a bit of damage, which will make the fight go much more quickly than waiting for the poison to get its HP to 1. Here's a video of it I made awhile back. I made a few mistakes, but it might help anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMjlc8Qrwj0

So I'm noticing on my XL (had it for about a month or two) that there are marks on the top screen where it sits on the lower screen when closed. I don't know if they are scratches or just dirt pressed up against it, I tried wiping it off with a small cloth but it just stayed. Is there a way to clean the screen safely to see if it will come off? I have a screen protector on its way in the mail, Along with a protective case to hopefully keep it in decent condition.

Is there a way to clean the screen safely to see if it will come off? It's a design flaw that affected the original 3DS more, it's the bezel of the touch screen rubbing against the top screen. It's scratches. The problem is lessened on the XL but as you can attest, it still happens. I have marks on my top screen as well, but at least it's on the screen protector I put on the day I got my XL.

I went ahead and kicked myself for not spending 9 bucks for screen protectors. Then I spent 9 bucks on screen protectors.

Lesson learned. If I recommend the XL to any friends I'll tell em to get on buying a screen protector ASAP. Maybe if I'm lucky and a special edition XL I want comes out I can just pick that up and transfer my data over.

Hope it won't get labeled as the "Game that had gay marriage and m-preg patched out" game if it comes out here in the states. Also guys I don't want to alarm you but the latest 3DS firmware update just released and I think they just came out with a bunch of apps for Streetpass that bring new hats with them. They're only appearing in the EU update though so I don't know when they'll appear in the US. Edit: Holy poo poo it's not just hats! quote:

You can buy 'em as a bunde for €14.99, too. I'd be more inclined to pay if any of those outfits/hats were visible in other games and not just the StreetPass Plaza (not that many games even support Miis, but whatever).

This is the real tragedy of the update. All those heroines but no Daisy? (Or Samus?) Maybe they appear once the puzzle is done in the background or to the side when you move the camera around like how the 20 years of Kirby puzzle hid Marx and Magalor.

Of course, NOA says on http://www.nintendo.com/3ds/system-update that America's latest version should be 5.0.0, so maybe they hosed up somewhere.
